Our buddy with the million dollar smile, Isaac Aesili, is soon to release a brand new single entitled “Dandilion”. He’s not alone on this one, since he’s releasing this together with Rachel Fraser under the collective name Funkommunity. This song was produced by fellow Kiwi Christoph El Truento while the b-side “Never Fading” was produced by Julien Dyne and Isaac together. Both songs are from their upcoming “Chequered Thoughts” album by the way. The 7″ is going to be released later this month via Wonderful Noise Japan so keep an eye out for that one! Oh

We’ve been waiting for this one for ages, but it seems it has been pushed back a little. No matter, because it’s now widely available on  and will also be pressed on wax. Most of you will remember Julien Dyne from his “Pins and Digits” EP from last year. Right before Christmas Julien is releasing his brand new “Glimpse” album on Wonderful Noise. We wrote a little something about the single several months ago in case you forgot. While Wonder Noise is taking care of the Asian side of business, BBE will be suplying the rest of the world. Rest assure there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get your grubby little hands on this release. This will be coming out on CD and digitally. Last month Benny Tones told me to watch out for some new Julien Dyne music and behold. His newly released single on BBE includes two tracks, “Candy Apple Grey” and “Get Closer” on flipside, plus a little Christoph El Truento remix as well. For me it’s all about the b-side featuring She’s So Rad and not so much about the a-side. About three weeks ago I emailed Wonderful Noise to see if I could get my hands on a copy of the new Benny Tones album “Chrysalis” which recently released on Evert Waking Hour. For those that never heard of Benny, he’s a Wellington-based producer/DJ/audio engineer and the official sound tech for Electric Wire Hustle. So I decided to hit up RBMA participant Manzana and he patched me through to Benny. Have to say I really love the whole vibe of the album and the Kiwi’s managed to surprise me once more, coming out of nowhere with a stunning release. Can’t go wrong with artists like Mara TK and Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy’s Drop) on your album of course.
Available on  and CD (via Amplifier), but with a hefty price attached to it. Might want to wait a bit for world wide distribution so I can pick it up at Rush Hour. Thanks to Benny for sharing “Nevermind” with us and making it available for FREE download!

Wonderful Noise…for some a steady supplier of good music and for others a distant record label somewhere in Japan. Since I stumbled onto some upcoming goodies to be released in the near future, I decided to share some of this wonderful noise with you guys. The first being a 12″ by Opensouls featuring Ladi 6 called “Sweetlove” containing a bad ass Mabanua remix (one of Japans sickest upcoming producers). The original was produced by Julien Dyne and what a coincidence…he’s on the next wonderful project as well.
Erik L and Stray team up to form the duo Favorite Flava and it is this group that I was talking about. “LOVE” is the a-side of this upcoming 12″ and Julien Dyne delivers one heck of a remix. Watch for this to drop June 1st and this summer we can expect their “Different Phase” album.

BBE is hitting us with a shit storm of quality releases! Yesterday they released another must have release “Pins and Digits”. This is Julien Dyne’s long awaited debut album following the critical acclaim of his first release “Phantom Limbo EP” (2007). Best known for his work as the drummer for Opensouls and Tyra and the Tornadoes, Julien has also worked with the likes of Verse Two, Nathan Haines, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Ladi6.
