stalley-autobiography

First of all I’d like to give due props to Osman for gettin’ is hip to Stalley. He sent us a video a few months back and we liked it a lot, but I personally never digged deeper than that. Now my man Deluge recently did and in light of his On-Point interview, I thought it would be only right to get ya’ll hip to Madstalley as well.

This Ohio native hailing from New York dropped his mixtape “MadStalley: The Autobiography” last year, done over re-workings of Madlib beats showcasing his potential. Now 2010 is definitely Stalley’s year to blow. Stalley’s heavily featured on Ski Beatz upcoming “24 Hour Karate School” mixtape (on Dame DashCreative Control label) and is also set to release a project in collaboration with Sa-Ra Creative Partners.

Ya boy P just hit me up on the mail with a bangin’ ass video shot by TheComeUpTv. The LAx Paperboys held their 4th Annual Holiday Party at Jane’s House in Hollywood, CA. As you can see in the video Rob Roy, Dom Kennedy & Pac Div held it down with performances as DJ Sean G kept the party live. What a way to end the year…stay COOL.

Fashionably late, but right on time we present to you the “Conversations With Her” EP. Now a lot of you got hip to Full Crate & Mar through us and it’s only logic that we support these guys like we have been doing from the get go. This soulful, soothing piece of music was something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time and finally it’s here. Thanks to Melting Pot Music for releasing this and hope to see a lot of you at the release party Saturday 23rd at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam (more info after the jump).

Eric Roberson was so impressed with “She Was Fly” that he decided to record some slick vocals over it. That version is also on the EP, together with my favorite joint “Surreal Moments”. Just had to stream that one, cuz it has been on repeat for over a month now. I urge you to get your digital copy via Full Crate & Mar - Conversations With Her - EP or for the vinyl-lovers that good old wax via HHV or Loop23! [photo credits: Robert Winter]

Well usually I’m not really into watching long interviews, but Homebase NYC and Hot Mop Films did a pretty decent job on the Off The Wall Sessions. Eventhough the sessions are in front off a wall everytime, it’s still interesting. They got some good quotes out of almost every interview. My personal favorite is the Tiron interview, so thats the one that got embedded, but you can check the other interviews with Shafiq Husayn, Exile, Brittany Bosco, Mike Baker The Bike Maker, and others right here. And if you need to Ketchup on Tiron you can download that here.

So I was minding my own business, when suddenly I stumbled upon this new Kid Sublime joint “Luv Dancin'” featuring U-Gene. This Dutch duo made me go nuts, when I heard this for the first time. Some real quality music right here if you ask me and it really got me curious about Kid Sublime’s upcoming “Love Notes” album. [photo credits: Nina Oliver]

The subject is jazz! The 26 year old producer/MC Dexter is taking an new look at the long going love affair between hip-hop and jazz. The sound design of Dexter’s “Jazz Files” is dusty, but with an unmistakable 2010 twist. Our Melting Pot Music fam has been releasing some mighty fine music lately and you know it!
