Shame on me! Now apparently I’ve had this Method Man & Redman – “Mrs. International” – joint for months, but never got around to listening to it. Luckily my cuz Mr. Speak told me about this wonderful track last week. Since the official video is out, I thought it might be nice to share it with ya’ll. There’s a cameo for the green eyed bandit Mr. Erick Sermon as well. Am I the only one that slept on this…I wonder. Lets call this a “Slept on Mondays” or sumthin. In case you were wondering where to buy…look no further, cuz iTunes is the solution. Thnx to Onsmash for the video.

Her first album “Kollage” was a hiphop classic and till this day still brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it. Don’t even get me started on that remix the Roots did for “I Confess”…
Anyway, in 2000 she came back with yet another (so forgotten) classic! For many people “BB Queen” was the first time they ever heard Dwele sing and produce & that joint with Slum Village…still sick!
It wasn’t a total surprise that Bahamadia left us with a 5 year hiatus again to come back in 2005 with the slept on album of the week “Good Rap Music”. In my opinion it’s not her best album, but still it does have a couple of nice joints on it worth checking out. The title track was produced by Kev Brown and it also features producers like King Britt and Hezikiah Davis. You gotta love the smart-ass rhymes and buttery flow she’s become so well known for. In case you’re curious and want to buy this album…try Amazon!
Oh peep this DJ Rahdu “Total Wreck: The Encyclopedia of Bahamadia” mix posted by our friends over at BamaLoveSoul. Since their podOmatic reached it’s bandwith be sure to download it HERE.

This release is the will consists of four singles that are set to feature Ras_G, Daedelus, Low Limit, Tandy Love and Anagram Jam, Illum Sphere, Carlos Nino and Mr. Dibiase..
San Fran based Low Limit, one half of Lazer Sword, describe their sound as “your favourite top 40 rap shit chopped up into a tronado filled with razor blades and molasses or Frank Zappa rocking the home made Lil John tank top at the rooftop party”. This pretty much sums up “Inspirational Jumpsuit”.
Straight out of Southern California, we bring you Brainfeeder’s Charles Dickerson aka Mono/Poly with electronics beats that will shake the ground you walk on. Be on the lookout for his upcoming release on Faces Records. “Oil Fields” might be an oldy, but damn it’s still on and crackin’!

We’ve had this logo/banner for way too long now and it’s time for a fresh new MOOVMNT logo! Over the past few months we’ve dedicated a lot more of our time, effort and money in providing you with the illest music out there. Now it only seems fair we now ask something in return.
For all graphic designers out there who are down with MOOVMNT…it’s time to show some love! We’re going to have a contest with 1 winner only. All we ask is a fresh logo (sent to us as a vector file) that embodies everything that MOOVMNT stands for. Now most of you already know what that MOOVMNT feeling is, but in case you need some extra info just download this .zip file HERE.
Since we’re not swimming in money (yet), we are offering the following prizes. First of all we’ll donate some free advertising space on the restyled MOOVMNT.com for the winning designer. Secondly the winner gets the new Dorian Concept album (on vinyl) plus and a big ass package consisting of audible goodies (vinyl, CD’s and digital music). If you would like to help to keep MOOVMNT fresh and poppin’ please send in your logo before June 12th. All designs can be emailed to contest@moovmnt.com and if there are any questions feel free to ask.

OKAY THE WINNER IS…RAY VELEZ FROM CRUMPET! CHECK THE COMMENT SECTION FOR MORE INFO. THANK YOU ALL!!
Already these guys are my favourite band of 2008/2009. Computer Jay, J-1 and Dam-Funk took it up another notch with a “more funk than jazz” Super Session recorded live at the HVW8 Art + Design. It was the first time these cats played together as a group and thus Master Blazter was born.
Now I think this hour long improv shit is sicker than chemotherapy! So if you love Dam Funk solo, you’re most definitely going to love the “HVW8 International Podcast, Vol. 2” (watch the video after the jump). One love to L.A.’s Computer Jay, Ty G and the whole HVW8 fam!

Hailing from Groningen, this Dutch trio consists of beat-genius Koen and MC’s Roelie and Vinnie. They’ve been making music for quit a while now and left somewhat of a hiatus…only to return brick-hard with a brand new 11 track album called “Nextop”.
Now we’re known to be the pickiest motherfuckers this side of the planet, but our verdict is BUY! The first two tracks on the album (“Je Hoort Ons” and “Een Lijn”) are so damn dope, we didn’t need to hear any more. It was a done deal and no surprise they made a VIDEO of “Een Lijn”. It was done by Patrick Louwerse and blew our minds. Check it out by clicking on the word VIDEO! As long as we’re doing shout outs…big ups Rebekka Thenu for the additional vocals. Ya’ll can download the sampler HERE (via Nalden.net) and don’t forget to BUY “Nextop” at Freshcotton when it drops the first week of July.
Okay here’s the deal! We are giving away an early copy of “Nextop” (plus some neat stickers) for the most original comment about their new song/video “Een Lijn”. Leave as many as you like and next week you might find something on your doormat as well!

Everybody else their favourite rapper Drake teams up with two of our favourite MC’s Phonte and Elzhi. Nice oldschool 9th Wonder production like we love…like Little Brother used to sound like…L.O.V.E. Straight from the “Comeback Season” Mixtape and mad props to Heinz from Rappersiknow!

You may know Ohmega from his albums “The Find” (2005) and “Watts Happening” (2007) on Ubiquity Records. In turn you may have heard of Ragen through her work with artists such as Living Legends, Braille, Tanya Morgan and DJ Jamad & Nicolay. The two first worked together on “Watts Happening” and then proceeded to work on a 3 track EP which over time turned into the M64 project. Today marks their first official release “Rhythm Of The Drum” b/w “In The Pocket”, which is being released on Record Breakin’ Music as a limited edition 7″ single as well as a digital download. Keep an eye out for M64 as they’re currently working on a full length album which is set to drop later this year.
