Fresh man Kenny emailed us today with a FRESHclusive Georgia Anne Muldrow joint. The multi-talented Ms.One dropped a sneak peak into her upcoming solo album, “Umsindo”. It’s a dedication to the African ancestors (Umsindo means “sound” in Zulu) and the song we are sharing with you is entitled “E.S.P.”. According to Kenny Umsindo comes close to the pre-Worthnothings demo/sampler which we at MOOVMNT love so much. Very excited and curious about Georgia Anne’s upcoming album…stay tuned for more info soon!

It was an honor when the guys from Laid Back wanted us as guest of the week on their Laid Back Radio project. Also check out homeboy Nalden‘s show and next week it’s Future Vintage their turn to be guest of the week. The LDBK player adds an extra dimension to audio streams by providing you with information related to the artist being played, the program grid, news from the Laid Back website and more. This player has been developed using Adobe Air, a technology allowing to build rich Internet applications that run outside the browser on multiple operating systems. One of the west coast’s funkiest producers ever is still in the game after almost 20 years. It’s amazing how I remember DJ Quik‘s “Safe & Sound” album like it was yesterday. It was around that time I really got into hiphop so I can honestly say that was one of my first records I ever bought. Now 16 years later his brand new “Blaqkout” joint still got me kinda excited. If you heard the recent summer banger “Love” from Frank Nitt, than you’ll know why. Quik’s new album will be available worldwide as of today.

The wonderful Karriem Riggins (as an incentive) made an exclusive track for leaking which gives the listener a hint on what to expect for the upcoming Virtuoso Experience shows, with this lovely soulful joint “Soul on Top”. For the Marvin Gaye fans, you’ll probably recognize some “I Want You” in there..

Another hectic weekend has almost come to an end. So why not end the week with a lovely SA-RA Creative Partners re-work, re-edit, remix or whatever you want to call it. Today has already started out to be a wonderful day…musically that is. One of Groningen’s finest Koen – also one third of Blocnotes – just hit us up with an unreleased Shawn Jackson track that (to our knowledge) was never released. Now apperently we need to keep telling ya’ll how stupidly fresh Mr. Jackson is and that he’s one of L.A.’s best. Massive shout out to our fam at Tres Records and A-Side Worldwide for keeping it live and Koen for the sickness!

My Armenian brother Full Crate called me up last night with some good news. Full Crate, Mar and Versis are releasing a brand new joint “Flirtwitu” (real soon) and we have the making of. I immediatly suggested doing an interview with Crate before he blows the f*ck up so watch out for that one. Much love and I didn’t know the HULK made all his beats.

The west is making noise and this time around it’s Co$$ who shakes shit up with Shawn Jackson on “LA’s Best”. July 28th is the day that his “Khakis & Taylors” 12inch will be available so recognize. Nuff respect to Fonetik Simbol on the production and Uponthingz for the scoop.

Imma freak, he a freak, you a freak…everybody freak! Damn this is definetely gonna be the club banger for July. Gonna push this one so hard even if I have to hand out copies to all the best local DJ’s myself. You all know Mark Pritchard and the genius producer they call Om’Mas Keith (from SA-RA Creative Partners). These two gentleman recorded “Wind It Up” at Red Bull Music Academy’s A Class Of Its Own in cologne 2007. Mike confirmed it will be released as a 12inch on Hyperdub records and allthough the audio quality isn’t that high this stream does keep you on point for the official release which we are all going to buy off course. Not sure about the release date, but probably July-ish. The release will have a Freak Mix and instrumental version on it so you know what it is son.
