Full of new music inspiration this week! Yesterday our buddy Front2blaq made us hip to UK’s James Welsh and this nasty little tune from 2011 called “Nastro Azzuro”. Super sexy synths that’ll warm you right up on a sunny, yet cold Sunday like this. ‘If there’s a remedy I don’t want it’…for those that still have a (love)hangover from yesterday. Enjoy, but remember to sleep in…not sleep on!
James Welsh – Nastro Azzuro (Original Mix)
[audio:http://www.moovmnt.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/James-Welsh-Nastro-Azzuro-Original-Mix-112-MOOVMNT.mp3]It’s been a while since I heard some new good ol’ Hip Hop music that I wanted to bump my head to. Today I found out about this new Quartermaine joint, produced by Kev Brown, and my neck was thanking me to the fullest extent. Some good ass rhymin’ on “War Of The Roses” which is available as a free download on the Redef Soundcloud page. This jam is on the “Quarter Life Crisis” album due next month on Redefinition Records/Low Budget Records by the way.

Jeedo debuts his brand new Electric Street Orchestra today on his Soundcloud page and let me tell you this shit is crackin’! This single will be out in five days on Dirt Tech Reck and contains two songs. The A-side contains “Scorpio” featuring Mad Mike Banks & UR-043, while the B-side is blessed with “M.F.A.” (Master Funk Association) which features Theo Parrish, Andres & Duminie. In this particular case I will be saying Tech-YES instead of Techno.

Lately I’ve been pretty bored with new music. There comes a time in ones life where a man has to reinvent himself on a musical level. One of those albums I was not feeling at the time was Jamire Williams‘ “Conflict Of A Man”. Thanks to a long conversation I had today, I started to realize that my relationship with music was on the verge of destruction. You might say we hadn’t had sex in months and that might have made me a little frustrated. All I needed really was to give “Visions” from Erimaj another listen. We should be thankful for innovators like these and appreciate them whenever we can. A lesson well taught! For those in the neighborhood…come and enjoy their show at the North Sea Jazz Club next month!
Erimaj – Visions (Unreleased)
As you might remember we tipped you about the dynamic duo that goes by the name of S3 a while ago. And since mister Miles Bonny and Brenk Sinatra are about to release their “Supa Soul Sh*t” album onMelting Pot Music in a few days, we thought it might be a good idea to let ya’ll know what’s about to happen. If you want a full review too bad…we’re just going to tell you that this is that new music you want to purchase. Pre-orders available at the MPM store in case you were wondering where to cop and make sure you check out the promotional video after the drop by the homey Robert Winter.

Almost uncanny how Grooveman Spot starts off on his new “Paradox” album, out on Japanese Jazzy Sport, because I always love me some good ol’ downtempo smoothness to start things off. Like he read my mind. After having heard “Groove Me” I was already sold, but as my ears wandered off they heard so much depth and warmth on this album. I can only begin to describe it as a personal journey from Beats to House music all the while flirting with some Funk. Japan is home of a few next level producers of which Grooveman Spot is definitely one! Listen to a preview below and get your copy at

We aren’t going anywhere! The bar has just been raised considarably and now we only post finds we think we truly have to share with you guys. Like this new Sure Thing 12″ entitled “Holding You Tight” featuring Dubstep heavyweight Joker on keys. These Bristol boogie boys really know how to get down and honestly this must be one of the nicest Modern Funk jams I’ve heard in a while. The main man behind this one is DJ Die and the vocal contributions come from miss ChloĆ© Lang. Grab a copy of this at your local record shop, cuz you need this filthy Gutterfunk release.
Robert Glasper‘s “Black Radio” album is already one of this year’s favourite picks, but what do we actually think about the “Black Radio Recovered: The Remix EP”? We were impressed by big names such as Pete Rock and Solange at first, but perhaps it was merely our high expectations that got the best of us. A so so remix from Georgia Anne Muldrow and a Questlove remix that was okay-ish. Could this really be it? Surely the level of niceness is nowhere near that of the album or are we missing something here?
Since we haven’t posted any new music lately, we thought we did owe you guys something. Not what we hoped for, but enjoy Mr Glasper thanking his fans and “Dillalude #2”. If you want this, go get it at

Some of you might have been visiting the site this past week thinking ‘when are these guys going to post some new freakin’ music’. In all honesty we’ve been slowing down the pace considerably. A lot of new music sounds dull to us at the moment and seeing Moovmnt is a reflection of our personal music taste, we sometimes choose to remain silent rather than lower the bar. I just heard something brand brand new that caught my attention. State of Zoe is a band from Tallin Estonia that manages to fuse Jazz, Pop and Soul in such an organic way…I love it! Singer Anneliis Kits has a voice my ears can really appreciate. It’s our pleasure to introduce you all to State of Zoe. Oh and for just 2 euro’s I think you all should get their “Mind” (Part I) EP by the way.

[audio:http://www.moovmnt.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/State-of-Zoe-Cant-Reach-You-MOOVMNT.mp3]Haven’t been listening to a whole lot of music lately, but when I listened to this Toi Horn song on miss Kronika’s Soundcloud, I was feeling it. Never heard about this DC-native producer/vocalist/songwriter before, but it turns out she released “Let It Happen” back in 2008. I thought I’d squeeze this in as a Slept on Sundays song…so kick back and enjoy!
