Kan Sano‘s brand new vocal project Bennetrhodes is just amazing and already running for top 10 album of the year. “Believe In Us” is the first single from Mint Condition‘s highly anticipated eight studio album entitled “Music @ The Speed of Life“. Stokley Williams, Ricky Kinchen, Homer O’Dell, Larry Waddell and Jeffrey Allen still make that smooth ass R&B that sounds like nothing else in today’s music scene. The album will be out September 25th, while the single “Believe in Love” is available on now.

Been kinda busy these past few days, but the first leak off Karriem Riggins‘ “Alone Together” is one of those must shares. Mr. Riggins is best known as a jazz drummer and hip-hop producer, but come October 22nd it is his time to shine with a 34-track instrumental odyssey showcasing nearly every influence on his career thus far. Now “Moogy Foog It” is om some medieval musical madness type of shit, that I can’t really wrap my head around yet. I remember we almost slept on Alton Miller‘s “Light Years Away” album a few years back. Now this fine piece of work gets ample play over at the crib though. Back then we posted two amazing songs, but for some reason not “Come On Over” (which in my opinion is one of those songs that should be heard as well). Tell me this isn’t the perfect ‘nothing-to-do’ music for on a Slept on Sundays such as this one. For everyone who still haven’t bought this one, please visit and give it a proper listen. Came across an interesting bunch of younsters out of Brooklym New York who call themselves Phony PPL. The collective consists out of Dyme-A-Duzin, PJ, Elbee Thrie, Aja Grant, Bari Bass, Elijah Rawk, Ian Bakerman, Matthew Byas & Temi O. And for some reason I enjoy their playful approach to Hip Hop music while fusing it with Soul and Jazz influences. Earlier this year they came out with their “Phonyland” album (which is still available as a free download) and next week they will release their new “Nothing Special” EP. After having dropped “MPG” (which is still up for grabs on his Soundcloud page) on us, he’s now back with his debut album, “Mid One”, which is an all instrumental 11-track’er. Two of Japan’s most respected hip-hop labels, Jazzy Sport and Origami Productions, decided to team up and launch a collaboration album between local Japan heroes Gagle (DJ Mitsu The Beats, MC Hunger & DJ Mu-r) and the Ovall instrumental band led by producer and bassist, Shingo Suzuki. If you’re into soulful Japanese Hip Hop, I guarantee you’re going to love this new “Gagle X Ovall” album. The guys get a little help from UK Soulstress Shea Soul on “Heaven”, but for the rest it’s an all Japan affair. Make sure you visit for some of that digital niceness!

You might remember Leon Ware’s latest release on Quieres Chicle. Well the label’s second release, from Opera singer Orfeo, is due to release today and is produced and co-written by none other than Robin Hannibal from Quadron. They recorded both songs on the single (of which the soulful downtempo “Quiet Nights” is our fav) in Los Angeles. Get the 12″ over at Juno (soon).

As mentioned before, Juicy Tunes just released the second installment of his Sunrise Blend Vol. 2 compilation album. Here’s an example of a nice little freebie containing music from Ta-Ku, Evill Needle, Midnight Runners and many more. Nothing mind-blowing here, but a great way to check out some newcomers.
