It is my pleasure to introduce you to a new duo from Paris of whom I had never heard before. Stanley Bloom (who hit us up via Facebook) & Mike Ro Wave very recently released their new “Pacific Shore” project which is an audiovisual journey inspired by a road trip through the state of California. Most of the music on this album stems from Funk, Soul and Hip Hop, but has a few electronic elements as well. The lovely miss Sarah Linhares from Montréal features on two songs of which “Road 1” is our favorite pick. We are giving away this one away as a free download, but for the rest of the album you need to visit of course.

M-Phazes has been dropping so much heat these past few years that he might needs to take a break before he burns a hole in our site. His remix of Hermitude‘s “Speak of the Devil” is bananas! It has that Disco feel to it and is drenched in Funk at the same time. Hermitude’s “Parallel Paradise” remix EP also contains a remix by the homie Ta-Ku and is available via Elefant Traks.

Freddie Joachim (JO-AH-KIM) collected some remixes and songs he had lying around and so “The Joachim Remixes” Vol. 5 was born. We already had some of the material on this compilation, but a free gift is always nice to receive right? So thank you Freddie. Ooh lala, ah qui qui, it be Häzel from Paris. He mentioned his upcoming “The Lost Tapes” release a while back, but I just learned that it will be out on CD, Vinyl & Cassette on July 3rd. You guys might remember the “AnaloG LovE” release from a few years ago. Well the Canadian duo, Vlooper & Modlee, is back with their brand new “Sunwalk” EP. Modlee was clearly inspired by Erykah Badu on this EP, but whether that’s a good, neutral or bad thing I leave up to you to decide. The EP is out and available on the Soulection Bandcamp page at a ‘name your price’ price.

Wow…we’re super late with this new single from Detroit’s Soul crooner Dwele , but better late than never right? He’s working on his sixth album as we speak and although his sound has gotten a little slicker each album, I’m still convinced there will be some music on there we’ll be glad to inform you about. On “What Profit” we do kinda miss the old sexy Dwele style of production, but even such a clean song as this doesn’t sound too bad at all in the world of modern day Soul music. A trip to will help you get your hands on this new single.

A few years before Moovmnt was born, Dave Ghetto released his “Love Life?” album. For some reason many slept on this one…or so it seems. There is a 9th Wonder production on there and Ill Mind also produced a few songs. On the vocal tip we hear some additions from Phonte, YahZarah and Cee-Lo Green. My favorite jam was always “Coming Up” featuring Erik Rico (who also produced it). Perfect for a Slept on Sundays like this right?! Oh and here’s is the link to in case you’d like to purchase this.

A while ago we told you about Danish producer Terry Tester and how you should watch this cat. Well earlier this week he released his debut solo EP, “Horses & Diamonds”, on Mixed Ape Music / Playground Music consisting of mostly instrumental music. On our favorite song (which we’re streaming below) we find Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble & Geeman the Grand Ear from Pittsburgh pitching in. The artwork was done by Tokio Aoyama and I think it looks really tight. To purchase this one go to or look for it at your local records shop.
