Not trying to sound like a broken record here, but Mez is delivering some sweet stuff once again. His latest collaboration with miss Soia is entitled “Lost in Memory” and displays that warm yet raw Vienna sound that caresses the ears. Thanks to both this one is available as a free download on Mez’s Soundcloud page. We’re ready for Mez to step it up even another notch though, cuz there is even more hidden in this talented producer.

Here we have the first single off Freddie Joachim’s upcoming “Fiberglass Kisses” album. The song “Keep Lovin’” features Carlitta Durand on the vocals and also contains a remix by Eric Lau. Look for the single to hit the stores May 7th via Mellow Orange.

Oh snap! I thought DJ Mitsu The Beats‘ new “Beat Installments” project was coming out later this month, but it turns out is was released last week on Jazzy Sport. Here we have a very nice collection of instrumental tracks ranging from hip hop beats to soulful house music. Don’t sleep on this one, cuz there’s a few gems in here you shouldn’t be sleeping on! One of KCRW’s most huggable DJ’s is without a doubt Anthony Valadez. His new single “Under Water” featuring Mar and The Park is the first sneak peak of what we can expect to hear on his upcoming “Just Visiting” LP on Plug Research coming out in June. There’s also a nice Full Crate remix on this single, so I suggest you visit for your fix.

For this weeks Slept on Sunday I decided to go back a few months instead of years. Personally I was a little late with Ski Beatz‘ “24 Hour Karate School Presents: Twilight” and decided not to post it. A few months later, I have to admit that there are a couple of songs on this album that deserve extra attention. A favorite of ours is “Fly By” featuring Curren$y, but we can’t forget about tracks like “Living It Up” with that extra thick bassline courtesy of Brady Watt.

Melbourne’s Illy & M-Phazes will be reworking well known songs from all corners of the music spectrum. Each of these “Friday Flips” will be built from songs suggested by the audience. You will be directly involved in the process of creation and each person who’s suggestion gets flipped wins some Illy merchandise. Very dope initiative, simply because the way Phazes flips some cheesy sounding Dubstep song by Skrillex called “Rock ‘N’ Roll” is just bananas. Oh go ahead and snatch that free download while it’s still available.

One of the many things we learned from our survey is that quite a few visitors would love more high quality downloads. It’s no coincidence that our DJ buddies have been nagging us about this Slakah The Beatchild song for the past weeks. We hit up Slakah and he decided to give away a DJ pack of “Wanna Do” including an instrumental and acapella version (in WAV format) as a free download. We’re getting ready for “Soul Movements” Vol. 2 to hit the streets this summer.

Hiatus Kaiyote is a band of Melbourne’s underground. The group consists of singer Nai Palm, keyboardist Simon Mavin, bass player Paul Bender and drummer Perrin Moss. Their sound is best described as futuristic live soul music, which at times contains a little mysterious and magical twist. Their debut album is entitled “Tawk Tomahawk” and released earlier this month. It’s available on their Bandcamp page, so get ta steppin’.
