Another year has passed us by again. For the thrird time we’re gonna end the year with our very own ‘Best of 2011’. Couple of hours ago Slakah the Beatchild dropped a laid back jazzy remix of Drake’s “Headlines”. Now I have nothing with or against Drake and quite honestly I just think this sounds pretty good as a whole. Thought I’d share this free download with you guys since it’s kinda slow at the moment in music land. I gave it some thought, but decided to post a little something about the new Finest Ego compilation anyway. In all honesty this is one of the least interesting ones I’ve heard so far though. Since it was time for Germany, Austria and Switzerland to represent I had high hopes, but could only find a few mediocre productions on here. Might just be me being hard to please, but all I wanted to share with you guys was this beat from Chief. Much appreciation for the free download, but I hope in 2012 the compilations get better quality wise. Personally I’d rather hear 10 amazing productions than 33 mediocre ones. Free downloads available up till Jan. 6th so get it while it lasts.

It’s from Emanative and is called “When On Earth” (Rapson Remix). The original came out as a 7″ on Futuristica Music and later on the “Time” album in 2010. Most of you will remember Julien Dyne from his “Pins and Digits” EP from last year. Right before Christmas Julien is releasing his brand new “Glimpse” album on Wonderful Noise. We wrote a little something about the single several months ago in case you forgot. While Wonder Noise is taking care of the Asian side of business, BBE will be suplying the rest of the world. Rest assure there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get your grubby little hands on this release. This will be coming out on CD and digitally. I knew Finale and Muhsinah where on there, but now I finally know the title of this track…“Keep Transit”. Low Budget Crew member RoddyRod is releasing his “Oakwood Grain II” album next year on Nature Sounds in physical form while it’s already available in digital form as of today on as well as on Bandcamp.
