KEYEL is a hip hop group hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, consisting of emcee’s Prose, Holy Moly, Pease, and DJ ESO. While the emcees have been childhood friends for many years, the collective that is now known as KEYEL was born from a mutual love of raw hip hop and appreciation of similar influences. The crew met DJ ESO while wyling out at a Slum Village show- and the beginning of a musical experience had begun.
Pulling influence from Detroit rap pioneers J Dilla (RIP) and Slum Village, as well as acts such as Common, DJ Premier, and Madlib, KEYEL has successfully recreated a sound equal parts classic hip hop and new age dope. Their pledge is to keep it all about the music as they continue to develop sonically. No B.S.- just that raw shit. No gimmicks- just key elements. KEYEL has shared the stage with acts such as Little Brother, Murs, Brother Ali, Tyga, Poetic Republic, and plans on continuing to rock shows and move crowds everywhere they go. You can now download their Mixtape over HERE, and buy some clothes over HERE.
