As a fan of many of Philadelphia’s musical talents, I was pleasantly surprised with this new joint by twin sisters Ayana and Ayinke, better known as AAries. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from them but I’m happy to announce that they’re currently working on some new material to be released in 2011. Produced by Karma Productions, “Don’t Give It Up” is a smooth uptempo soul track that echoes some of that fine 70′s soul music. Apart from this song, they have also set up a YouTube channel with some great unreleased tunes and you can follow them on Twitter at @itsAAries to keep up with them. Can’t wait for more new stuff!

@johns lol, word? the incident that inspired that song didn’t even happen until late 2007 let alone the writing and the recording which happened much, just to give some insight if you’d like. we appreciate the compliment.

Beautiful song–heard it on KCRW! Love the YouTube video, too. I hope this becomes big, big, big for the gals.

Wow. Seems like just yesterday I interviewed these talented girls at the Atlantic offices. Glad to see they’re still releasing great music. Such a great early 80s feel to this joint. I love it, wood blocks and all

Excellent track with that lovely, easy on the ear retro feel, with beautiful vocals. Great production, i’ll be watching with intrest, and I agree with another author, in that the YT video is good, if you can get over the wide eyed guy, ha ha.
