As you guys and gals might know, we’ve been supporting the half Chilean producer called fLako for quite some time over at Moovmnt. We’ve met a few times and he is a very humble guy. He’s been living in London for a while now and is releasing his brand new project entitled “Carving Away The Clay” today. This EP is on some new and improved shit and clearly fLako has been evolving in sound and style over the past few years. The text below expresses the thought behind the EP, which will is available on 10″ vinyl (Rush Hour) as well as digitally via Bandcamp.
‘Carving Away The Clay’ impresses upon the idea of an ongoing process in which raw material is stripped off of anything superfluous or impeding until the essential parts of ourselves are exposed. It is a never ending process of striving for perfection in all areas of life.

A few days ago Median‘s “The Sender” album came out on Foreign Exchange Music. Production-wise it’s a great line up with 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Kev Brown, Black Milk, Astronote & S1. Vocally it features Phonte, Bahamadia, Sy Smith & YahZarah. All in all good recipe for a more than decent album. Personal two favorite picks would be “Special” and “Kiss The Sky”. We told ya’ll not to sleep on Nubian queen Esperanzah from Rotterdam before, when she dropped her “Birthday” EP. Together with musical partner Sense she forms the formation Numaads. Their six-track EP called “Now” will be released early June via Project Mooncircle on 12″ vinyl and as a digital iTunes release as well. Our top pick is “Wanting” for the simple fact this was one of the very first songs we ever heard from Esperanzah. Shlohmo‘s free online a release just got pimped the f*ck up by FoF Music and is now officially out as a digital release under the name “Shlomoshun Deluxe”. To really bring home the ‘Friends of Friends’ theme on this release, Shlohmo has invited Low Limit (of Lazer Sword), Fulgenace (Musique Large), Tokimonsta (Brainfeeder) and devonwho (Klipmode) to handle remix duties, acting as a brief showcase for Shlohmo and some of his people. After Bullion’s ‘Young Heartache’ EP ushered in the dreamy days of summer, the young producer returns with a mind-bending brace of wistful songs for winter: ‘Say Goodbye To What’ is hook-laden psychedelic funk, a pop song laced with intricacies and a beautifully skewed production approach.
