Seriously though. Manga is well known here in Amsterdam for his ‘Legends’ party that he’s been doing together with Supreme Cuisine in the Paradiso for some time now. This is what everybody’s been waiting for all year. Sexy soulstress Erykah Badu is back with a brand new album entitled “New Amerykah pt. 2: Return of the Ankh” and it’s hella good. She really got us worried when that joint with Lil Wayne leaked, but thank god that isn’t on the album. When “Window Seat” leaked I knew this was going to be like old times. Probably the best Nu-Soul album I’ve heard in a while and even if she did cover Sylvia Striplin‘s “You Can’t Turn Me Away”…it’s all good. Miss Erykah can get away with stuff like that, because she drops songs like “Love” and “Fall In Love” on Return of the Ankh. Been a long time since I’ve bought an album, but this is a birthday present I wouldn’t mind getting. Is there anyone who’s still looking to buy me a gift? Only eleven more days till the album drops and after having heard some snippets here and there, I can tell you this is going to be a winner. After having heard the first leak of Erykah Badu‘s “Jump In The Air” with Lil Wayne, I wasn’t impressed at all. After having heard the second joint called “Window Seat” I was relieved as hell. Now here’s the Badu we’ve been feenin’ for. This one was produced by Badu and James Poyser and has Questlove on drums (who else?). Really looking forward to “New Amerykah Part 2″, which supposedly drops March 30th.

Inglewood, CA native Casey Veggies dropped his “Customized Greatly Vol. 2″ album last summer. This fresh ass track “Rollin By” was on there and was produced by ya boy Polyester The Saint and Fresh Chuck Daily for HellaGooD productions. The video was released yesterday and I gotta holla at P for those slick ass Black Caeser sunglasses. You might have seen those before on Erykah Badu in Shafiq Husayn‘s video, but that’s because Steve ‘Thundercat’ Bruner designs these. Imma have to pick one up this summer! In celebration of Flying Lotus‘s birthday, ArtDontSleep put together another heavy impromptu jam session in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles. This 30 minute take from the jam session features some heavy hitter producers and musicians, including Flying Lotus himself, Exile, Shafiq Husayn (SA-RA), Stephen ‘Thundercat’ Bruner (Erykah Badu, SA-RA), Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (Suite for Ma Dukes), Computer Jay (Master Blazter) and many others.
Also, many of these cats will be featured on the upcoming CMJ Showcase on October 21st at Crash Mansion.
