Doing it in the park, doing it after dark oh yeah. So Oddisee‘s latest edition of what you’ve been missing is called “Rock Creek Park”. Heard a few other songs of the album, but when I heard “Mattered Much” featuring Olivier Daysoul and “Beach Dr.” I was truly impressed. Here’s two of those songs that can only be defined as beautiful. “Mattered Much” was actually not intended for the album, but Oddisee dug it out, realized it was meant to be on there after all and added the vocals to it. In case you were wondering it’s Andy Faus on guitar and Lucan’s Pipkin on strings. Oh and make sure to grab this free download and buy the whole album over at if you like what you’re hearing!

Tokyo Dawn is back with another great release. The German-based production and DJ collective SoulParlor is about to release their “Evoluzion” album, which spelled bacwards reads ‘Noiz U Love’. Fully loaded with 19 tracks, it manages to cross several musical genres while staying hella fresh throughout. Highly suitable for DJ’s as well since Evoluzion contains a few heavy dancefloor hitters.
Expect guest vocals from the likes of Oddisee, Replife, Cecilia Stalin (Koop), Colonel Red, Jacob And The Appleblossom (Wagner Love) and more. The bonus remixes are also crazy and include Mark de Clive-Lowe, Afronaut, Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic), Dego (4hero/2000black) and TDR’s boogie maestro Opolopo. You can buy an exclusive pre-release download HERE now before the CD hits the streets on June 3rd. And remember…this evoluzion will be blogevised!

Recently the good people from the Red Bull Music Academy uploaded some new video footage. We wanted to share Oddisee‘s video, because he once saw a man being eaten by a crocodile and because he describes the life of a RBMA participant very well. No rest for the wicked, just being in those studio’s all day and all night working together on music. All you gifted musicians…don’t forget to apply HERE.
Another variation from Mar has landed in our inbox. This time paying homage to Dilla Dawg (R.I.P.). This “Fantastic Vol. 2″ re-imagination is available as a free download on Mar’s Bandcamp page. Also heard him saying he was working on an Oddisee variation so keep an ear out for that.

Olivier DaySoul‘s “Mr Saint Louis” EP is a fact and available for free download on Oddisee‘s Bandcamp (who produced the entire EP). I love the way this sounds…so familiar, yet never heard any of this. Better grab this while it’s hot, because after it’s been downloaded a thousand times it will cease to be a freebie…so hurry up! Thanks to Oddisee and Amelia.

Last week Trek Life dropped his “Everything Changed Nothing” album and at first I wasn’t really blown away. It took me a while, but after having listened to it a second time I think you all should give it a listen as well. Loving some of those Oddisee productions on there and the fact that OlivierDaySoul is singing on a bunch of songs helps too. Really love the title song and also “I’d Rather Be” is in the top 3. Let me know what you guys think and to purchase a digital copy head on over to
