I just happened to be messing around on Twitter and came across this... Ayomari‘s debut project “The Peanut Butter & Jelly Solution”. The album features Tiron and Tunji, and got Just Blaze, Les Nubians, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Exile, & James Poyser on production. Don’t know if those beats are cleared officialy, but either way I like the project. You can download the album for free at Thecafeterialine.

First of all I’d like to give due props to Osman for gettin’ is hip to Stalley. He sent us a video a few months back and we liked it a lot, but I personally never digged deeper than that. Now my man Deluge recently did and in light of his On-Point interview, I thought it would be only right to get ya’ll hip to Madstalley as well.
This Ohio native hailing from New York dropped his mixtape “MadStalley: The Autobiography” last year, done over re-workings of Madlib beats showcasing his potential. Now 2010 is definitely Stalley’s year to blow. Stalley’s heavily featured on Ski Beatz upcoming “24 Hour Karate School” mixtape (on Dame Dash’ Creative Control label) and is also set to release a project in collaboration with Sa-Ra Creative Partners.

Our Belgian homeboy Azer did a 2009 mix and it goes hard as you might guess. It’s a selection of some of his favorite tracks released in 2009. It was broadcasted on December 30, 2009 in the Laid Back Show on FM Brussel. Happy new year and see you on the flipside.

Paul Preis on a killin’ spree. Last week he dropped a mix with Musique Large, this week he’s dropping this Moovmnt mix hosted by us and who knows what he’s dropping next week. Paul describes this mix as a relaxed mix for the autumn mood. Nice selection and hop you all enjoy this one. Tracklist after the jump..and best believe it’s full of laid back electronic music. REPOST: Using “Love Czars” from their Nuclear Evolution album as inspiration, the SA-RA Creative Partners create “Love Czars II” exclusively for this release. This is not a remix (the music is completely different), and in a clash of heavyweight new schoolers, it features red hot MC/producer Jay Electronica and Ta’Raach on the mic. Also included is “Powder Bump”, a SA-RA track previously unavailable on vinyl.
Please note that this is a very special limited release with the music on one side and the Serato tone on the flip of some very pink vinyl! This is an official Serato Control Vinyl release which works as a conventional 12″ release on Side A, and is a Serato Control Vinyl release on Side B. ubiquity

Once in a while an artist manages to take me back into time. Recently it was Cali’s Fashawn that reminded me of the Pharcyde a lot…and I do mean got me suffering from flashbacks and shit. This week I was introduced to Polyester the Saint for the first time. When listening to his typical west coast jams, it got sucked into a vortex of some sort. I suddenly found myself in another time somewhere in the mid nineties. It was this period in time that had always stuck with me througout my life, cuz it was feel good Hip Hop. Shit was laidback, funky, care free and a whole lot more. Stop what you’re doing for brief moment and go listen to Poly’s music. Doesn’t this remind you of cats like Domino with his “Sweet Potatoe Pie” or “Getto Jam”? Anyhow…enough with the sentimental ish. We just wanted to let the world know about this west coast musician who breathes new life in to Hip Hop while spreading messages of peace, unity and love.
After attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, Polyester (aka Christian St. James Cleveland) would immediately begin to work closely with notable greats such as Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder, E-40 and Too Short. Poly would then join forces with partner Louis Brown IV, forming production team, Los Angeles Unified Sound District or LAUSD. In 2009 the duo would receive worldwide recognition with the release of “LAUSD Presents: Curly Tops And Nautica Jackets”, which was distributed on major Hip Hop blogs across the country and landed #5 on BET’s must have CD’s of 2009.
With a Funk heart, a Jazz spirit and a Hip Hop structure, his sound represents a mixture of G-Funk and Hip Hop and is mostly sample-based. He has already performed with J’DaVeY and Taz of SA-RA Creative Partners. Currently he’s working on a compliation album with the likes of Pac Div, Dom Kennedy, U-N-I, Diz Gibran. Keep your greedy little eyes on the lookout for the “Hellagood presents: Polyester The Saint” album, which is yet to be released. Poly’s is currently also working on a brand new album “Peace Love Unity Respect” which is still in the making.

FunkinEven 1956is the latest artist to join the ranks of Eglo records (Floating Points / Alexander Nut). Featuring the incredible vocal talent of Swedish born/Hackney bred artist Fatima(who some of you will recognize through collaborations with SA-RA’s Shafiq Husayn and Stones Throws Dam-Funk) Kleer is the title track taken from the forthcoming 4 track EP, which showcases Funkineven’s individual futuristic soul bounce. Being his debut release we felt it only right to go all out and press the vinyl up on clear wax, so hold tight for the finished product. Having already been heavily supported in it’s demo form by 1Xtra’s Benji B, the track is now finished, mastered and ready to take on the globe!
West Londoner FunkinEven creates sounds that inhabit a similar atmosphere to The Neptunes, Model 500 and Bugz In The Attic just as much as they do Cameo, NPG and Zapp. Take a listen and invent your own labels… we just know that everytime it’s been performed live it has most definitely “blown up tha spot!”. The full EP will also feature two B side tacks ‘Mad Swing’ and ‘You’, which where previously available as rough versions on the net but have now been finished, polished and mastered for your bumping enjoyment.
