This is the second time KrystalKlear has come to my attention and I decided to let ya’ll in on a little secret. This mystery artist from Belize is going to be releasing his debut release in April on All City Records. Massive synth waves flood the ears and take you back to the Boogie. It’s artists like Dam-Funk that pop to mind when hearing this typical early-’80s boogielicious funkiness. Klear’s productions are on that Neo Boogie tip that only few have managed to produce on a level to my liking so far. Keep your eyes and ears open for more of that f0nk!

Kidkanevil sent us his “Basho Basho” album months ago, but my man Nev was too busy talking about coffee…as always. So on the late tip we bring you this Red Bull Music Academy participant who goes by the name of Kidkanevil. The 28-year-old beat maker has been keeping himself busy with the release of his new album “Basho Basho”which recently dropped on First Word Records. Fellow RMBA participant TOKiMONSTA (Brainfeeder) dropped a remix on us of the first leak called “Megajoy”. In case you were wondering where to buy…head on over to his Bandcamp or check out [Artwork: Matt Bailey..]

On 8th /9th February 2010, Gil Scott-Heron will release his new album “I’m New Here” on groundbreaking independent label XL Recordings. Produced by XL label owner Richard Russell, “Im New Here” is Scott-Heron’s first album in thirteen years.
“I’m New Here” sees Scott-Heron reflecting on his life with his trademark vocal power and insight, sharing his visions among Russell’s flickering, electronic soundscapes.
The pair started recording the album in 2007, with the majority of the record being recorded over the last twelve months in New York at Clinton Studios. Truly one of the most inspiring albums of the year..
