Last week we got an email from a frequent visitor who goes by the name of Rckmo. Together with two other producers he recently released this “Toast” EP under the collective name The Hookup. At first I wasn’t really feeling this EP, because in all honestly…Mike Rockmore was the only one that got my head nodding. Nev and me concluded that this was worth a post after all eventhough the release as a whole is mediocre at best. Rckmo’s beats (especially “To Whom It May Concern”) won us over. Perhaps it’s because his style of producing comes the closest to our personal taste. Some of you might digg this, some of you won’t. We’d love to hear your honest opinion about this Dutch beat collective and big ups to our colleagues over at Puna for hosting this DOWNLOAD.

Right at the end of the year this one sneaky gem almost slipped past me, but I got it. Stockholm’s 35bag released their self titled album containing this one crazy nice jam featuring Moovmnt’s “Ones To Watch in 2011” very own 1-O.A.K. My advise is head over to and pick yourself up this one joint…it’s sounds very refreshing!

Now-Again Records presents Dimlite‘s new “My Human Wears Acedia Shreds” EP. The follow-up to “Prismic Tops” is evenly out there, but personally I liked the first better. The Swiss producer catches my attention with “Kitty Cradle Fog”, but as I skip through the rest I wonder if this is my cup of tea. Check this out for yourself and if you like it get the 10″ vinyl packaged in a tip-on, thick cardboard sleeve, the MP3 or the “mini-LP” CD package, exclusively available at the Stones Throw shop.

Sorry for the lateness, but it’s been a long weekend. Love to start of 2011 with a wonderful tribute from Mark de Clive-Lowe featuring Sy Smith by the name of “Teena” (Lovergirl Sybernized). Almost putting an end to 2010 and as always it’s hard to find good quality music around this time. Sure Christmas is cool with a lot of free releases, but if you want to end the year with a bang you’ve have to look hard. Just my luck I came across Teeko‘s new website and found this low bitrate stream of “Magical Light” (It’s Magical Like) featuring Dibiase. Next year Teeko will be dropping his “Light Up The Darkness” album and I’m very curious about that one. Go out with a bang, stay safe and keep MOOV’N!

Norfolk’s Nottz needs no more introduction. His partner in rhyme Asher Roth (who also features on “You Need This Music”) is perhaps the lesser known to some. Their eight tracks deep, “Rawth” EP provides a steady bounce and has some guest appearances by Rhymefest and Kardinal Offishall. Not a collection of the best Nottz beats we’ve ever heard, but quite nice for a FREE release! Download can be found HERE…[via Rawkoncept]

Good thing my man MRP hooked me up last week so I can let ya’ll know what a luscious Detroit sounds were created on this brilliant album…quite breathtaking. My verdict is simple…BUY IT!
