It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard from the ever so talented producer FS Green, but he’s back with Full Crate as they are on the verge of dropping Hi-Hat Club Vol. 5 “Eggs And Pancakes”. Six tracks from each producer plus two collaborations as well. The time is finally here for some of those soon to be classics, that have been locked in the vault for way too long, to be released. Cherish gems such as “Troopercat” and “Thursday”, because you might need them either in the club or at home on a rainy day. I’m dying to meet all the guys from Cologne at the official German release party on the 29th and there is also a rumor that there will be a release party in Amsterdam the week after. Brace yourself for another amazing Melting Pot release, because this one is a must cop! Whether your poisson is MP3 or vinyl…we got that fix.

2010 has been a productive year for multi-faceted producer/songwriter Machinedrum. In addition to his critically-acclaimed releases on LuckyMe (Many Faces) and Hotflush (Love Pressure – as Sepalcure with Praveen Sharma), a collaboration with Harlem MC Azealia Banks, as well as a slew of remix work for artists ranging from Ninjasonik, SBTRKT to Jimmy Edgar, Machinedrum now has the pleasure of releasing with Innovative Leisure the upcoming 12-inch EP of “Let It”, from his 2009 album Want To 1 2.

Featuring Brooklyn MC/vocalist Melo-X, “Let It” is being released with a remix from L.A.’s own Edit from the Glitch Mob crew and San Francisco duo Lazer Sword. The EP also features the previously unreleased “Flud” – an original track that once again shows the growth and versatility of the artist who is becoming increasingly recognized as electronic music’s Renaissance man. Olivier DaySoul has been making noise recently and with this sick ass feature on JR & PH7‘s “Persuasion” he only proves that he’s a true vocalist amongst many so called singers that can’t sing for shit. The killer organs and percussion make this jawn sound soulful and energetic and reminiscent of that Amerie song, but without sounding like a copy. Almost slept on this, but thanks to Soulspazm Records for keeping us on track. Get the single on and the “The Update” will drop November 9th.

JR & PH7 – Persuasion Ft. Olivier DaySoul & Sean Price

We’ve been telling you about Virginia-born Nottz for a while now and the time has finally arrived. Tomorrow he is set to release his self-produced debut “You Need This Music” and here’s the verdict. Eventhough I’ve already heard quite a few tracks of the new album, it’s still well worth your money. I don’t buy CD’s very often, but in case I come across a copy I’m picking this up for sure. Nottz’ style is very refreshing and it’s not just one trick he pulls of. If you listen to “Right Here” featuring Bilal, you hear how divers the album really is. One of my favourites is without a doubt “I Still Love You” featuring Mayer Hawthorne, where Nottz declares his love for Roxanne Shante reminiscent of the early days of hiphop. Simply said…this album gives me a positve feeling and that’s something that doesn’t happen very often any more. It’s going to be on repeat for the next few days and I might even have to put this in my top 10 for this year…we’ll see. Don’t hesitate and get it on now!

Detroit’s Magestik Legend is about to drop “To Be Continued…Chapter 2” hosted by Rapper Big Pooh early next week as a free download. Today’s leak “Crazy” was produced by Astronote and bangs like a motherf*cker. Chapter 2 is the prequel to Magestik Legend’s upcoming full length album “The Great Escape” which drops on November 30th featuring a majority of the production from Astronote, but also includes tracks produced by 14KT. Guest features on this album include Guilty Simpson, Kam Moye aka Supastition, DJ Rhettmatic, Buff 1 and more.
