Exile (aka Mr. Funky Worm) just dropped his “Radio Bonus” album and made it available as a FREE download. You can find a lot of remixes on there, but also some cuts that didn’t make the “Radio” album. Also…Exile’s official website – www.thedirtyscience.com – is a fact. The site will be a center point for upcoming Exile related content, where users can keep updated with upcoming shows, videos, music, etc. Be on the lookout for his “AM/FM” album that’s going to be released August 31st on Plug Research.

Ever since Freddie Joachim dropped ‘Splendor’, I’ve been impressed by his music. He just released another album “Midway” on Mellow Orange and I advise you to check this one out for yourself. All I can say is that this got some major heat on it. Come on and take a “Ride” into another “Galaxy” and everything is gonna be “All Right”. Brooklyn-based Machinedrum is hard to describe and ranges from four to the floor electronic music with heavy synths to funky soulfull beats that Jesse Boykins can sing to. On his new “Many Faces” EP, which is being released through LuckyMe, he shows a side that I personally haven’t seen/heard before. I only heard a few songs from Jesse’s upcoming album, but never knew this producer was so versatile. Perhaps it’s best described as innovative club music, but you have to be open to new sounds and harmonies.

There’s a limited vinyl edition (100 copies) including a Tee + cassette tape + 12-inch EP (more info soon). All you digital heads, please visit to get your freak on.

Machinedrum – Carry The Weight

Tonight the final ‘Make a Living, Making Music’ producers workshops will take place at Club Up in Amsterdam. A Q&A will take place with Chilean producer fLako, who resides in Londen at the moment. This young producer recently took the step to make a living with making music. After the meet and greet we will listen to all the creations for the “Appelsap 10 years Commercial” and the winner will be announced. I really hope the homies Bluntspeakers, Dukehugh & Princeofbeatz did their thang. The winner will be rewarded the junXion Software and eternal fame of course.

SirOJ is back on the block and this time it’s “Castlevenia” that gets re-released on Organik Recordings together with the brand new b-side “Flip It Back”. If you can remember this 8-bit tune came out on the 1st Beat Dimensions compilation. The homie Myele from Electric Wire Hustle informed me that they will be playing in Amsterdam on Monday 19th at the Sugar Factory. In case you’re not hip to these New Zealand cats yet, check out their epk (via BBE) and rehearsal video shot at the RBMA studio in London (presented by Pinboard) below. BBE is also re-releasing EWH’s debut selftitled album in a few weeks and I’m hoping for some vinyl.

The ambassador of boogie funk – DâM-FunK – is dropping another hot 12-inch EP on us with vocal versions of “Hood Pass Intact” featuring MC Eiht and “4 My Homies” featuring Steve Arrington (of Slave). Rounding out the four-track Hood Pass Intact are contributions from Devonwho on the instrumental re-edit of Toeachizown’s “Come On Outside” and JT Donaldson and TK co-producing the non-album single “How It Be Between U & Me?”. Keep an eye out for this late summer release on Stones Throw.
