Deluge and me just came back from Joya Mooi‘s album pre-listening party at MC. Late as usual we missed the whole shebang, but still got to chill with Full Crate, Mar, SirOJ, Joya, Yoji and miss Mountainwood for a minute. I had heard an early leak of “When I Take A Step Back” (produced by Presto) and was semi impressed at the time. After having heard the rest of the album I can truly say this…I’m a fan of miss Mooi! Not because she has the looks, not because she’s a nice person, but because I truly admire the way she comes across as an artist.

One of my favorites is the duet with Mar called “My Day”. Her debut album “Hard Melk” is a soundtrack for the new theater play BH and features almost every single Dutch producer you’d want on your album. Just to name a few: SirOJ, Presto, Hayzee, Wan, Dub Spensa and Crate who kinda put everything together musically. You can check out the entire album over HERE and view her video after the jump. This is the second time KrystalKlear has come to my attention and I decided to let ya’ll in on a little secret. This mystery artist from Belize is going to be releasing his debut release in April on All City Records. Massive synth waves flood the ears and take you back to the Boogie. It’s artists like Dam-Funk that pop to mind when hearing this typical early-’80s boogielicious funkiness. Klear’s productions are on that Neo Boogie tip that only few have managed to produce on a level to my liking so far. Keep your eyes and ears open for more of that f0nk!

Terrace Martin is a producer/saxophonist/songwriter has been playing drums and piano since he was toddler. Later at the age of 13 he fell in love with the alto sax and that’s that. It has been Terrace Martin’s love for the alto sax that has catapulted his career into a world beyond imagination. He has worked with people like Diddy, Raphael Saadiq and Charlie Wilson. Even more noteworthy might be legends like Art Farmer, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder.

Mr. Martin also caught the attention of Hip Hop veteran Snoop Dogg and went on to become his production partner. On Terrace’s new release, “The EP – Volume 2: Lover Edition”, Snoop even pops around to do some guest vocals. Also dope to see Frank Nitt get down on “Go Girl” together with Problem. After having heard the first leak of Erykah Badu‘s “Jump In The Air” with Lil Wayne, I wasn’t impressed at all. After having heard the second joint called “Window Seat” I was relieved as hell. Now here’s the Badu we’ve been feenin’ for. This one was produced by Badu and James Poyser and has Questlove on drums (who else?). Really looking forward to “New Amerykah Part 2”, which supposedly drops March 30th.

You might already knew that big man Ty from London is dropping “Special Kind of Fool” on us somewhere April. It’s the tale of an artist who after ten years, three critically acclaimed albums, collaborations with the likes of Tony Allen, De La Soul, Damon Albarn and Estelle, a Mercury nomination amongst other accolades, and a worldwide army of fans, has always followed his heart. “Emotions” is the first single off the new album and there’s also going to be numerous wicked remixes of the track from 2000 Black, Daz-I-Que and Waajeed coming next month! Big ups BBE, Raj and Ty of course.
