One of the many things we learned from our survey is that quite a few visitors would love more high quality downloads. It’s no coincidence that our DJ buddies have been nagging us about this Slakah The Beatchild song for the past weeks. We hit up Slakah and he decided to give away a DJ pack of “Wanna Do” including an instrumental and acapella version (in WAV format) as a free download. We’re getting ready for “Soul Movements” Vol. 2 to hit the streets this summer.

Never heard of Rashad nor Confidence before, but Evil Needle did a nice little ‘golden era’ sounding remix for their “The City” joint. So after having had “Conversations With Her” Mar steps his game up a notch and is now “Seeing Her Naked”. The real question here is, who is this mysterious ‘her’ that Mar sings about time after time? His latest “Seeing Her Naked” EP contains five songs and was co-produced by FS Green and Full Crate. Photography was done by Angela Tellier, while Deluge took care of the of the design. Make sure you grab this free download, because you might find something sexy on there.

Most of the songs on the new “Our Nest” Vol. 1 compilation on Earnest Endeavours were already keeping our HD warm and fuzzy. However this is a great ‘name your price’ opportunity to score these. The homie Buscrates is treating us to a super nice mix he recorded live at 720 Records in Pittsburgh to celebrate Herbie Hancock‘s 72nd birthday (on April 12th, so happy birthday Herbie!!). You can tell Orlando is a huge Herbie fan and I have to say this mix is just what we needed to hear today. So thank you Herbie for the music and Buscrates for selecting some of your favorites. Make sure get this free download while it’s nice and hot.

My buddy from Goodnws put me on to this new 8-track project called “Picture This” presented by Scion A/V. Detroit legend Moodymann not only brings dancefloor joints to the table on this one, but also keeps it smooth and soulful at the same time. This has a little bit of everything on it. Even a splash of Motor City magic! Beneath you can bounce to our favorite two, but make sure you snatch the entire free download for yourself too. And trust me…this is way too good to snooze on!

OJ from Union just hit us with a crazy remix they did for The Stepkids‘ song “Suburban Dream”. A killer remix that features lyricists Pharoahe Monch and Homeboy Sandman and was released on Stones Throw. It’s available as a free download via Fat Beats…so go grab that!

Just realized that Hawthorne Headhunters‘ full-length album “Myriad of Now” released today on Plug Research. There’s some nice new music on here as well as some older stuff as well, I remember “Luv Galactic” finding it’s way to us a few years back and I could swear DaM-FunK had a feature on there as well. A song I hadn’t heard before, but immediatly stood out is “Sum People Don’t Change”. Thanks to the good people of Plug Research for giving away “Yellow Cougar” as a free download. Go ahead and buy the full-length album on , it’s pretty good.
