Earlier this week I came across this Parisian duo called Next Evidence. Back in 2002 they released their “Thrills” album featuring artists such as M, Sinclair, N’dea Davenport, Tania Maria and Phife Dawg. That last collaboration track with Phife, “It’s Only Right”, is this weeks Slept on Sundays jam. Enjoy your Sunday and bounce to this!

Kan Sano‘s brand new vocal project Bennetrhodes is just amazing and already running for top 10 album of the year. The “Sun Ya” album was released on Gruntstyle (Wax Poetics Japan) digitally and on CD. More info on this masterpiece soon!! For now just buy the album at Sun Ya - Bennetrhodes and if you’re fast, grab a limited free download of one of the songs (time’s up, but either way just visit) Kan’s Soundcloud page. Wanted to add that all the vocals were sung by Kan himself. Truly magnificent!

“Believe In Us” is the first single from Mint Condition‘s highly anticipated eight studio album entitled “Music @ The Speed of Life“. Stokley Williams, Ricky Kinchen, Homer O’Dell, Larry Waddell and Jeffrey Allen still make that smooth ass R&B that sounds like nothing else in today’s music scene. The album will be out September 25th, while the single “Believe in Love” is available on Believe In Us - Single - Mint Condition now.

Been kinda busy these past few days, but the first leak off Karriem Riggins“Alone Together” is one of those must shares. Mr. Riggins is best known as a jazz drummer and hip-hop producer, but come October 22nd it is his time to shine with a 34-track instrumental odyssey showcasing nearly every influence on his career thus far. Now “Moogy Foog It” is om some medieval musical madness type of shit, that I can’t really wrap my head around yet. I suggest you give it a try by going ahead and grabbing that free download over at Stones Throw..

I remember we almost slept on Alton Miller‘s “Light Years Away” album a few years back. Now this fine piece of work gets ample play over at the crib though. Back then we posted two amazing songs, but for some reason not “Come On Over” (which in my opinion is one of those songs that should be heard as well). Tell me this isn’t the perfect ‘nothing-to-do’ music for on a Slept on Sundays such as this one. For everyone who still haven’t bought this one, please visit Light Years Away - Alton Miller and give it a proper listen. You’ll thoroughly enjoy it!

Came across an interesting bunch of younsters out of Brooklym New York who call themselves Phony PPL. The collective consists out of Dyme-A-Duzin, PJ, Elbee Thrie, Aja Grant, Bari Bass, Elijah Rawk, Ian Bakerman, Matthew Byas & Temi O. And for some reason I enjoy their playful approach to Hip Hop music while fusing it with Soul and Jazz influences. Earlier this year they came out with their “Phonyland” album (which is still available as a free download) and next week they will release their new “Nothing Special” EP. Some time ago we told you to keep your eyes and ears on Midwest drummer/producer Manuals. After having dropped “MPG” (which is still up for grabs on his Soundcloud page) on us, he’s now back with his debut album, “Mid One”, which is an all instrumental 11-track’er. Go ahead and check out more from Manuals Instrumental Disc One at his Bandcamp page.
