I just came across Aquil‘s first single off his upcoming album “Land Of Synth”. Not much to say about this one other than I’m digging it a lot. Production was handled by Astronote, definitely curious about this album!

Now I never knew Actual Proof was one of Opolopo‘s aliases, but it makes sense. This new “The Grit” EP contains three songs you wouldn’t really expect from Opo. The sound is more nu disco with a Detroit touch, but still very fresh. If I had to pick I’d got for the original mix of the energetic “Hubble”. Stepping a little out of our comfort zone here, but I bet you guys are gonna dig this too if you were digging our 5daysoff Moovmnt Mix. Available digitally via Juno now.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from José James. Tomorrow he’s releasing a brand new song entitled “Trouble”which was recorded live at the AllSaints Basement Sessions in London. Also peep some fly video footage of this live recording while your at it. The song was written by José James and Scott Jacoby with Takuya Kuroda on the horns and there’s also a remix out by Oh No! It was the b-side called “The Return Of Here & Now”, but honestly I’m digging “Dance Forever” even more. Proh Mic’s debut album Rhythm for Days is set to release on october 25. The album will give listeners a peek into Proh Mic the artist, as he sings and raps throughout the album. When not singing or rapping, Proh has enlisted fan favorites Georgia Anne Muldrow, Coultrain, Tone Trezure, and more to perform the vocalist responsibilities. Paris representative Onra is proud to announce his next album release, “Chinoiseries Pt. 2”, dropping on November 15th on All City Records. For this project has been digging for Chinese and Vietnamese vinyl to create a themed instrumental hip-hip beat journey just like he did five years ago with the first volume. The second edition of this series, which features 32 instrumentals all sampled from various vinyl found during various trips to South East Asia. Enjoy a short video trailer for “Chinoiseries Pt. 2” which captures Onra digging for vinyl on one of his recent trips, while molding the original samples into a beat that you’ll soon get to enjoy.

It’s not often that I come across a new jazz artist that really captures me, but 28 year old London based Zara McFarlane definitely is one of them. Recently signed to Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, Zara is releasing her full length LP “Until Tomorrow” on October 10th. Apart from tracks off the previously self released “Until Tomorrow EP” it includes new original material as well as 2 covers of tracks by the late Harry Whitaker.
