After countless remixes, productions, features, as well as his critically acclaimed [Re]Mixtape Series, Trackademicks has finally come with his full-length debut LP, State Of The Arts. Twelve tracks deep, Trackademicks handles 100% of the production duties. The record enlists a  healthy dosage of Track’s known collaborative cohorts, including Little Brother/Foreign Exchange founder Phonte (“Fool On The Hill”), Windy City favorite Kid Sister (“Quit Yo Job”), and  the soulful Teedra Moses (“Face The Music”). Along with his own HNRL crew, Oakland favorites Mistah F.A.B. (“Stop It!”) and Goapele (“State Of The Arts”) also make the cut.

Available at all digital retailers, State Of The Arts comes with a substantial 20-something page booklet containing extensive artist liner notes written by Trackademicks himself. In the upcoming weeks Track will also begin releasing video liner notes for select songs off the record. The full digital package also includes previously unreleased bonus material. HNRL Crew

Mono/Poly’s new “Manifestations” EP is his debut on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. The EP is a very diverse collection of powerfull rhythms and innovative sound design. Sonny Coates sent us some this crazy psychedelic take on Shafiq Husayn‘s “Major Heavy”. Together with Shafiq (percussion/background vocals), Om’Mas Keith (drums/background vocals), Thundercat (bass/whistle/background vocals) and Wow Jones (fender rhodes, synthesizers), Sonny (guitar/lead vocal) recorded this live one-take version called “mjrhe∆vy !!!!!!!!!!!!_! We are happy to introduce this fresh vocalist Taprikk Sweezee, who was born in Berlin and is now living/working in Hamburg. He has a small label called Zoikmusic and released his “Conversea” EP last year. On his new “Poly” EP he works with producers such as Busy (USA), E.A.R.L (Netherlands) and HBO (France). As far as the sound goes…this EP is really all over the place. I hear some futuristic funk, nu soul, glitch and many other influences on here. Our personal favorite has to be “Newend”. Vocal sweetness combined with electronic mayhem…that’s what’s up. Look out for the EP to drop later this month and in case you’d like to pre-order visit Boomkat. More buy links will follow.

Next week Take aka Sweatson Klank will release his “Only Mountain The Remixes” album on Alpha Pup. Lots of crazy cameo’s from producers from all over the globe. We picked out our favourites allthough is was a tough call. Cali is well represented on this remix feast with the likes of Dibiase, TOKiMONSTA, Low Limit, Alex B…just to name a few.

A while back we decided we wanted to make a mix containing some music that we normally don’t post about that often. It’s a fine line, but this mix definitely crosses that line on several occasions. With the Dutch 5daysoff event around the corner we thought it would be suiting to name this the “5daysoff Moovmnt Mix”. Some more Dance orientated music in this mix, meant for the dancefloor rather than your iPod. Also sent this mix in for a contest, so three birds with one stone. I hope most of you like this, but I know some of you won’t. Long story short…give it a listen. If you love it great. If you hate it no problem.
