Very nice to hear this new song from Erykah Badu featured on the Girlfriends soundtrack. I’m not a fan of the TV show at all, but I read it’s quite big. Nice track and hope to hear more goodies from this diva real soon. The soundtrack will be available January 27th on amazon or visit iTunes to buy the mp3!

Last weekend I was Twittin’ it and stumbled upon this Suff Daddy track I hadn’t heard before. I thought it was about time we did a write-up about this producer from Berlin so here it is. He produced music for Kissey Asplund and on his EP “EFIL4FFUS” (Melting Pot) he teamed up with the likes of Kev Brown, Oddisee and Miles Bonny. Suff sent us some exclusive joints and we wanted to share LOTTAHYDRO with ya’ll.

Just a quick post for the hell of it. We were at Rushhour a couple of days ago and Nevill and me checked out this Grooveman Spot track we hadn’t heard before. The a-side “2 Things” with John Robinson didn’t really snap our necks, but when we heard the b-side “Down To You” feat. Muhsinah we knew we had to post this one. This 12inch was released late november, but since we don’t buy a whole lot of vinyl I guess we missed this one. Buy this record or the mp3’s and support these artists!

They made a mixtape as an homage to Detroit artists like J Dilla (R.I.P.), Black Milk, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson and Slum Village. The reason why they made the mixtape is because they want to introduce the Detroit sound to France. Amsterdam-based producer SirOJ also did a production on the album (U&I) so get this one on iTunes when it drops!

Soul singer Jafaar, from Birmingham (Alabama), is a talented singer, songwriter and trumpeter. His goal is to regain and bring back the feel of soul music. According to Jafaar everything is turning to pop. Given his beautiful voice & musical talents he won’t have a hard time to bring back beautiful soul music.
Jafaar will be releasing an album called Travel Light which will be released February 20th. He made these 2 tracks available for everybody to download so don’t forget to reward his kindness by getting that album when it drops! LA-based Noni Limar aka Noni Brown grew up singing in church. She’s done a couple of features, but hasn’t realesed a whole lot yet. I’m very curious about future collaborations and solo projects, because the first track “I Swear” was produced by none other then Sa-Ra Creative Partners. The second track “Monogamy” was produced by Black LA and was featured on the Fresh Selects – Loose Joints mixtape (zipped by Kenny Fresh). Give this lady a visit on her myspace and show some luv!
