Machinedrum just decided to share a whole bunch of remixes he made between 2005 and 2010 for various artists and bundle them for his “Nice Efforts” compilation. Some were rejected, others unreleased or just straight up unfinished. Available tomorrow via Mixmag for free download. Pretty nice effort right?
Since we at Moovmnt are a bunch of romantic saps it felt like the right thing to do to say we really appreciate you all for your love and support over the past 5 years! Mr. Speak and I already had an idea in mind for a sexy soul mix, but we thought out the concept a bit more and decided to make it an extra special Valentine’s this year. We are giving you this “Musical Bouquet” mix containing over an hour of soul gems hand-picked from our record collections. Please spread the love and share this with your loved ones. Mad love to Speak for holdin’ it down on the wheels of steel and big up to all the heartbreakers and ass shakers out there.
‘We need to say we love you in a very special way.
And that’s why we have crafted this musical bouquet’
Just got word from Brooklyn-based Bastard Jazz about Potatohead People‘s new limited edition 7” containing two songs of their previously released “Kosmichemusik” EP. The vinyl will be out on Valentine’s Day especially for all you heart-breakers and broken hearted. The Canadian duo, consisting of Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical, are now giving away “Back To My Shit” featuring Frank Nitt as a free download so act accordingly!
Jairus Mozee aka Jmo from Long Beach California came to my attention when I saw Brandon Coleman talk about him. Soon I came to the discovery he has played guitar for Prince, Lil Wayne, Faith Evans and Cee Lo. He also wrote songs with Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton and Kendrick Lamar. For his own song “Experience” he asked the help of Ricky Harris aka DJ Eazy D*ck from W-Balls. Enjoy some of that free downloadable West Coast Funk!
Earlier today the whole band was rehearsing for tonight. Sorry that a lot of you are going to miss out on this, but for those in the Netherlands please feel free to hop on through. The place to be tonight is Seravince‘s “Hear To See” album launch at the Bitterzoet! See ya’ll at 8pm..
Bilal‘s new album will be out in just a few weeks, so his drummer/producer Steve Mckie decided to stream this nice unreleased joint with Robert Glasper on keys and Adam Blackstone on bass on his Soundcloud. Make sure you catch “A Love Surreal” on Feb 26.
Back in 2010 Benny Tones released his album, “Chrysalis”, wich came out via BBE Records. Might have been a while since we last heard from Benny, but that’s mostly because he’s been busy touring the globe with Electric Wire Hustle. On his travels he did however meet many musicians and producers. This resulted in “Chrysalis – The Remixes”, a collection of 30 remixes from producers such as fLako, B.Bravo, Christoph El Truento, AD Bourke, Dizz1, Tayreeb, Sola Rosa and Comfort Fit.
So here’s an almost unimaginable post from me. What…a new Prince song? And wasn’t I that guy that never had any musical interest in the artist formerly known as whatsoever? Correct! However I did come across an almost eerie website where you get shushed by this woman with three eyes. It’s Prince’s new merchant site and allows you to purchase 4 songs. Something sexy as “Breakfast Can Wait” should be bumpin’ through your speakers. Regardless if you’re a fan of Prince or not. (Spotted at PinBoard)
