World Peace & Astro Funk:
You might remember we posted about these two jolly young beat wizards, Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie, earlier this Spring. They came hard with their “Untreeleted” joint, which you can still grab for free, and are coming back with a follow-up album called “Astro Funk & Weltfrieden” slated to drop November 18th via Feelin’ Music. I’m really loving the playful sound these cats are bringing and eventhough they’re still hella young (they started producing together in 2010), I hear a lot of potential here. Ya’ll should really keep an ear out for this Swiss duo and enjoy this Moovmnt Exclusive preview entitled “∆ Sign of Peace”..

From Berlin to London to Lonely Town:
As you guys and gals might know, we’ve been supporting the half Chilean producer called fLako for quite some time over at Moovmnt. We’ve met a few times and he is a very humble guy. He’s been living in London for a while now and is releasing his brand new project entitled “Carving Away The Clay” today. This EP is on some new and improved shit and clearly fLako has been evolving in sound and style over the past few years. The text below expresses the thought behind the EP, which will is available on 10″ vinyl (Rush Hour) as well as digitally via Bandcamp.
‘Carving Away The Clay’ impresses upon the idea of an ongoing process in which raw material is stripped off of anything superfluous or impeding until the essential parts of ourselves are exposed. It is a never ending process of striving for perfection in all areas of life.

Classic??:
Earlier this week Stones Throw released MED‘s “Classic” album which remained a little on the downlow for me. It has so many amazing producers on there that you would think this was a shure hit, but quite honestly I dunno. It’s not a bad album, but with all these productions from Madlib, Oh No, Alchemist and Karriem Riggins I was expecting a bit more I guess. Don’t get me wrong. This album has some dope joints on there like “INT’L” produced by Georgia Anne Muldrow and “Classic” produced by Karriem Riggins. Perhaps in this day and age this is just what a great album is supposed to sound like?!! Check the rest of the album out here on
or get a limited 3xLP (with instrumentals) over at Stones Throw.

Floating Shadows:
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Sam aka Floating Points is returning November 21st with his “Shadows” EP on Eglo Records. I’ve truly fallen in love with this one song “Myrtle Avenue” featuring miss Fatima. It just sounds so incredibly sexy! The video for “Sais” is also pretty tight, so I suggest you peep that as well. The visuals were created live in realtime by Will Hurt as part of their live A/V collaboration. Already available for pre-order at Rush Hour!

Perth’s Paper Chain:
From a forthcoming label out of Perth called Paper Chain comes the “Paper Chain Sampler” Vol. 1. There’s a few good songs on there, but not everything was to our liking. Perhaps it’s best to check this one out for yourself. The compilation includes music from Ta-Ku, Kit Pop, Bobby Blunt and a whole lot of other producers I’ve never heard about. Might not be worth your $10, but then again for some it might.

Sweet Malice:
Got this email in yesterday about a duo from Seattle called Malice & Mario Sweet. A couple that has been happily married for a few years now and decided to share their passion for music together. Earlier this year they released their “Happy 2 Year” album. Adding a few extra bonus songs and remixes, they now have a deluxe edition out. For me the “Date Night” remix stood out eventhough I have no clue who remixed it.

Erykah’s A Child Of The Funk
When you’re done listening to that incredible piece on Dilla, I suggest you take another 2 hours. Just sit back, relax and get ready to listen to miss Erykah Badu who gave a lecture a few days ago at the Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid. Very interesting interview done by Egon from Stones Throw. Enjoy this one!

A Tribute To Dilla:
Yesterday the BBC aired an incredible show called “BBC Radio 1Xtra Stories: Gone Too Soon” about the legend known as J Dilla presented by Benji B. An amazing hour full of facts about Dilla, Slum Village and much much more with guest appearances from De La Soul, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Questlove, Common, Dwele, etc. You have got to see this!! Go and check it out right NOW, right HERE..

14 Karat Life:
After winning last year’s Red Bull Big Tune, Detroit’s 14KT was awarded with the chance to record a track with his favorite artist. As it turns out he picked none other than UGK’s Bun B. The result is a solid track called “The Life”. XXL has some footage of the recording process, and if you haven’t already check out 14KT’s “14Killatape” to hear some of the beats he won that prestigious Big Tune with.
