Black Power, Brown Pride:

Man I love waking up Saturday morning with video’s like these. I guess it kinda reminds me of Yo MTV Raps! MED‘s “Blaxican” was produced by Madlib and is taken from the “Classic” album dropping November 1st. The video was director by Mochilla’s Eric Coleman and shot in LA as you can see.

Dego & Face Are Powerful:

Fresh off the release of his solo LP “A Wha Him Deh Pon?”, Dego is back at it again. This time blessing us with the third in his “Freeness” downloads, consisting of two unreleased tracks. The first being a typical Dego uptempo instrumental entitled “As Is”. The second one is a track I’ve been trying to get my hands on ever since I heard it on Phil Asher’s Restless Soul show a few months back. “Nothing More Powerful” features longtime collaborator Face, and is very reminiscent of the lovely sound Dego co-created with Silhouette Brown. In The Mood For Evil:

Soulection is doing their thang with already their 5th release. It’s Evil Needle‘s turn who drops his “Mood” album on the world this Monday. We’ve been steadily feeding his French cuisine, so be now you should be used to his soulful instrumentations. In case you are not…enjoy some of that “Mood Music”. Badu On Which Producer To Work With:

This year’s Red Bull Music Academy is in full effect again. Participants such as Full Crate and Salva are probably having the time of their lives as we speak in Madrid. Yesterday miss Erykah Badu was a guest at the academy and gave a lecture. BeatMakerBeat aka WayneTweed should be no stranger to our average visitor. In case you haven’t heard of this Russian producer, he goes by many names. BeatMakerBeat, Spacekid or WayneTweed. Salva has been dropping nothing but major releases all over this year. Not everything was my style, I admit, but gotta hand it to Paul for really taking the bull by the horns. His latest “Yellobone” EP will be released next month on FoF Music. I remember meeting Paul last summer in Frisco and he seemed like a quite guy. Picture Perfect Funk…Freeze That!:

Last weekend Deluge and me met Amalia and Opolopo for the first time at their debut gig in Amsterdam. We were baffled to hear that miss Amalia actually has this beautiful voice in real life as well and wasn’t singing off key at all. Not every artist can hold their own when it comes to live performances, but this lady sure can. During diner yesterday I discovered Opolopo likes to be picked up by men and Amalia loves food and taking pictures. Broken Glasses Everywhere:

I can’t even remember the last time I put on some Full Crate music. Must admit that it’s been a while since Crate caught my attention, but with his long awaited “Golden Glasses” EP he seems to have strung a cord. On the EP we hear a few electronic influences (reminding a little of HudMo), that give this debut Wonderful Ear release a very up to date sound. Now I remember when Crate got these glasses a while ago and he loved them to death. But over the years they began to decay and bits & pieces started to chip. I guess with this release he’s saving up for some very expensive bifocals. So with that in mind, please make sure you pre-order the vinyl 10″ at Rush Hour or go digital over at .
