My man Front2Blaq just sent me this video (check it after the jump) of B.Lewis and I had to share this with ya’ll. This young Californian is currently studying sound audio and I truly love the way “Day Two” sounds. To my surprise there’s a lot more where this came from. Mr. Lewis dropped his “Talking Chairs” beat tape HERE for FREE and if you take the time to visit his Bandcamp, you’ll find lots more audible goodies there! Most intriguing I find this triology where feelings come gliding across that synthesizer as if it was nothing…I’m really feeling this a lot! Shouts to Jay Scarlett for posting this on his blog a couple of days ago.

Another crazy remix from London’s mad scientist Floating Points has hit the web. This time it’s Bonobo‘s “Eyesdown” featuring Andreya Triana that gets reworked. This is kinda wicked..innit? Big up to Osmanologie for keeping it fresh.

It is my pleasure to introduce you all to Pixelord aka Alexey Devyanin. He’s a Moscow-based veteran of experimental music, best-known for his Gultskra Artikler moniker. His debut four-track EP “Lucid Freaks” brings forth a mixture of spliffed-out 8bit riddims, stumbling Hip Hop beats and a pinch of Euro Dance glam. However unique, the weirdo plastic Pop of Glasgow’s Hudson Mowake is echoed in his tunes as well as bass-driven digital Reggae, Jahtari-style. The artwork of L.A. painter Michael Dotson makes the package complete.
This EP is available online in the form of a FREE DOWNLOAD at Error Broadcast. Also peep the remix EP (which drops later today) with remixes by Jameszoo, Coco Bryce and more. Om-Unit, eLan and Vlooper where suppost to be on the remix project too, but I guess it didn’t work out in the end.

What a refreshing sound have we stumbled upon. I really dig Lewis McCallum‘s tasty take on music. This New Zealand-based alto-sax player takes his Jazz background and love of Beats to concoct something of epic proportion…the single “First Date”. This track features vocals by Fran Kora and chordal assistance by (APRA Silver Scroll winner) Godfrey De Grut and is from his upcoming album “Syntheology”, coming out next month. With music like this coming out, it sometimes makes me wonder what else New Zealand is going to come with in the future? Big up to the Dorkmeister for dropping some knowledge on us.

The first unofficial leak of the highly anticipated album “Cosmogramma” is a fact. Gilles Peterson premiered Flying Lotus‘s “Computer Face/Pure Being” on his radioshow recently and here you have a it…a sneak peak. The album is due May 4th on Warp and I hope it’s not going to be too wonky or experimental, because we kinda miss the ‘old’ FlyLo sometimes.

Is it number five already? Damn how time seems to fly by. Gilles Peterson presents “Brownswood Bubblers Five” and again surprises us with a compilation full of nice music ranging from Soultronica to Hip Hop and from Jazz to Nu-Soul music. In case you’re not down with the whole Bubblers vibe – it goes a little something like this…
“Brownswood Bubblers provides a platform for unsung heroes and emerging talent from the Worldwide underground. The series distils the stream of exciting new artists that have become semi-permanent fixtures in Gilles’ playlists and DJ sets of late to create a suite of perfect bumps.”
Volume Five drops with March 8th and is full of great music, but what else did you expect? Some of this wonderful music has already been out for some time, while a few gems are highly exclusive and were unreleased up till now. Check out some profiles on their website. So far they’ve featured Ron Basejam, Electric Wire Hustle, Shuanise and Daru & Rena. Already this album is exclusively available through the Brownswood Recordings store, so act fast. You also get a FREE download when you purchase the CD HERE!
