Everybody else their favourite rapper Drake teams up with two of our favourite MC’s Phonte and Elzhi. Nice oldschool 9th Wonder production like we love…like Little Brother used to sound like…L.O.V.E. Straight from the “Comeback Season” Mixtape and mad props to Heinz from Rappersiknow!

It’s been a long time coming, but finally we can announce that Detroit rapper Finale will be releasing his new album on Interdependent Media. The official A Pipe Dream And A Promise album release show will go down on April 4th in Detroit at Elements Gallery.
Expect to hear people like Invincible, Black Milk (on production) and Flying Lotus. The last did the production on the J Dilla (R.I.P.) homage on this wonderful album and is the icing on the cake. Be sure to get it when it drops, because this one is a straight banger! Check out more info about the Raise It Up Dilla dedication (Amsterdam) after the jump!

In a search to bring back the essence of true Atlanta musicianship, Dreamer, The Love Crusader, Tuki and Stago Lee, collectively known as Hollyweerd lead you into a land where rejects and weirdos reign supreme. Joining the new hip-hop movement of internet phenomenons, Hollyweerd has garnered much attention from their ability to create innovative tunes for their eclectic fans online. Brought together by what some might consider divine intervention, these four individuals have a niche for creative lyrics and music that defies the norms of hip-hop. Through songs such as “Weerdo” and “Go hard or Go Home”, Hollyweerd grants listeners a sample of the limitless state of mind they adhere to when it comes to not only the music scene, but life as well.
Influenced by such genres as jazz, rap, techno, rock and alternative, the individualistic creativity that exists within Hollyweerd is undeniable. Self described as new wave, rap, ghetto tech music, their ground-breaking sound resides in unmarked musical territory sure to influence the music community and the world. Meeting in Atlanta, Hollyweerd was formed in mid-November 2007. Creating not only a group, but a brotherhood, Dreamer brings an unorthodox style while Tuki brings wordplay, The Love Crusader brings passion and Stago Lee brings southern sophistication, which culminates into a fresh breath of music with good vibes and funky melodies.
Hollyweerd is creating their own rules in our land and a land where the rain is purple and the flowers are dead. Bringing about change transformation and a new breed of music to the south, Hollyweerd is the new southern comfort.

Little Brother delivered their answer to the 9th & Jean Grae post. Are they really missing 9th…Or are they just tying to go another way with a fresher less underground style. Like it or not, Phonte & Big Pooh are still making moves. Are they part of the Moovmnt? Listen to some tracks of the N.C.Cool CD-R.

Whoaaa! 9th wonder has done it again! Everybody was getting tired of him doing the same style of beats. But with the last tracks he’s done, including the Erykah Badu joint and this one, he has proven to be one of the illest most versatile producer. I expect a bright future for the man, and i bet Phonte & Big Pooh are real sorry they let him go, haha. By the way Jean Grae is on point again, in the video i saw a different appearence than i expected to see of her, but she brought it off real good, definitely our fav female mc.
It took me a few days to post this album, just because i wasn’t sure if i was really feeling it. Now after a few days of listening i’ve really gotten into the vibe. At least half of the track are such a different style of 9th wonder than that i’m used of, that it was hard comprehending. But i really notice now that he has just stepped his game up to another level, and it’s too hot. Buckshot as always stays on point with his lyrics and in combination with 9th i think they have put together another masterpiece that overshadows their last album, be sure go buy that!

Buckshot is teaming again with 9th Wonder for The Formula, due on 4/15 and also featuring Talib Kweli and Raheem DeVaughn. The jump-off single is “Go All Out” and Buckshot sounds just as sinister as he did way back . The flow is a perfect compliment to 9th’s production. I’m eagerly waiting for this album to drop on April 15th.
