Big homie Kenny Fresh just hooked us up with some brand new Hawthorne Headhunters music and you gotta love it. For those who don’t know HH…the trio exists of Black Spade, I, CED (or Ced No) and Proh Mic. The possitively sounding “Never Give Up” – which co-stars vocals from Coultrain - is an unreleased outtake from the same 2007 sessions that the group’s forthcoming debut EP was pulled from. This will be their very first release being put out by HVW8 on June 20th. The soulful “Get Up!” has been in my top ten ‘on repeat’ tracks for a while now and “PCM” with Dam Funk is epic! I heard the instrumental version a while back, but Stacy really blesses it nicely with her voice. Motivation comes from Georgia Annes’ upcoming album on the ePistrophik Peach Sound label with Dudley Perkins. Last year Fatima dropped her golden vocals on one of last year’s bangers ”Unite” by TettoryBad on Sonar Kollektiv. This new Fatima joint “Do I Know You” was released by Red Bull Music Academy over a week ago. It was recorded during the Barcelona session of the RBMA last year and is featured on the upcoming “Various Assets” compilation. The production was done by Cohen, Cuthead & Dorian Concept. LA-based Noni Limar aka Noni Brown grew up singing in church. She’s done a couple of features, but hasn’t realesed a whole lot yet. I’m very curious about future collaborations and solo projects, because the first track “I Swear” was produced by none other then Sa-Ra Creative Partners. The second track “Monogamy” was produced by Black LA and was featured on the Fresh Selects – Loose Joints mixtape (zipped by Kenny Fresh). Give this lady a visit on her myspace and show some luv!
