London’s vocalist Stac returns with fifteen remixes on her new “Turn That Light Out: The Remixes/Vol. Two” album. Honestly I’m not feeling this remix album at all accept for Kidkanevil‘s remix that is. Might just be a London thing I’m not supposed to get or something. Anyways..didn’t want to keep this one song from you all, cuz I’m kinda digging her vocals with his production.

Tru Thoughts is steadily bringing out quality music and although Belleruche is not exactly our cup of tea, this Kidkanevil remix is! The London trio released their third “270 Stories” album last month. Next month “Fuzz Face” will drop as a digital single with on the flipside Kidkanevil’s of “Backyard”. Sorry for the late passs, but when we received the latest Swede:art release on Tokyo Dawn entitled “Emotional Colors Remixes” last week, we didn’t get a chance to put it online. Of course we took some time out to give it a good listen and I liked what I was hearing. Fellow ex-RBMA participants B. Bravo, Kidkanevil and TOKiMONSTA remix the shit out of Swede’s Emotional Colors project together with producers such as Comfort Fit, Devonwho, Ishfaq and Sam Irl. Buddy Bravo delivers that funk, but I didn’t expect anything less. Devon’s remix is also a banger so enjoy these 2 streams, because the CD doesn’t drop untill October 21st.

Earlier this year we had the chance to be a part of the Red Bull Music Academy, which took place in London this year. We tried to live the life of a participant and also brought our video camera along. You might come to the conclusion we are not very skilled videographers (yet), but nevertheless we wanted to share some of the footage we shot in London.
Today was marked in many agenda’s already, because it’s the official release date of the ‘RBMA Various Assets 2010′ compilation album. UK massive in the house. This Friday our big buddy TY and RBMA-ninja Kidkanevil are going to perform in the upstairs room of Amsterdam’s Paradiso. We were asked to host the evening and of course we said yes. MOOVMNT at PARADISO starts of with TY who’ll be performing a lot of new material of his brand new “Special Kind of Fool” album. To bring the transition from Hip Hop to more electronic styles of music, the little homie Jameszoo is going to play some tunes. I heard through the grapevine that he’s releasing his debut album later this year, but more info on that soon. To end the evening Kidkanevil is going to do a Live set with an whole array of different styles of electronic music. Keywords are wonky, dubby and who knows what else he’s got in store. Last month in London we bumped into Oddisee who recorded with several RBMA participants. One of which was Kidkanevil and they recorded “Zo0o0o0p!!!” together, which made it onto the second installment of “Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations”. Again a lot of dope artists on this compilation. We had to drop “untitled971″ by Stevo, because it’s not only fresh but also cuz he’s been a long time supporter of Moovmnt. Our second day here at the Red Bull Music Academy started with an insightful lecture with Dutch DJ/producerMartyn. None other than Benji B asked Martyn about his musical roots, his inspiration and his way of creating his significant sound. We also saw a chance to interact with some of the participants such as Swede:art, Kidkanevil & Manzilla (Electric Wire Hustle) and get their take on their time at the RBMA. Ex-participant Oddisee stopped by to check out the new talent and will be blessing some of the material made in the past couple of days. We received a preview of a track that 7 of the participants worked on with Hudson Mohawke and got word that HudMo will be back later this week for more sessions. The evening was reserved for a live performance by a number of participants at Queen of Hoxton. While we’re posting this Space Dimension Controller, Nando Pro, Ross McHenry & Thompson are having a private little party in the lobby with Space’s 40 records he just got as a present. We’ve never heard Dilla’s beats bang as much as they do over this Genelec soundsystem.
Kidkanevil sent us his “Basho Basho” album months ago, but my man Nev was too busy talking about coffee…as always. So on the late tip we bring you this Red Bull Music Academy participant who goes by the name of Kidkanevil. The 28-year-old beat maker has been keeping himself busy with the release of his new album “Basho Basho”which recently dropped on First Word Records. Fellow RMBA participant TOKiMONSTA (Brainfeeder) dropped a remix on us of the first leak called “Megajoy”.
