Interesting collaboration between Georgia Anne Muldrow and the mad professor of beats Madlib. Their new album is called “Seeds” and will be releasing March 27 on SomeOthaShip Connect. The title song has that 70′s Blaxploitation vibe to it with sick soulful horns, ill strings and Georgia’s distinctive voice. Eventhough the single, “Seeds”, won’t be out until Feb 14 on Fat Beats, an exclusive free download was made available thanks to Rolling Stone.

Today is officially #blackstarfriday as Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) decided to drop their first single “Fix Up” off their upcoming reunion album. Produced by Madlib, both Talib and Yasiin sound like they never left which promises a lot for the new album. Earlier this week Stones Throw released MED‘s “Classic” album which remained a little on the downlow for me. It has so many amazing producers on there that you would think this was a shure hit, but quite honestly I dunno. It’s not a bad album, but with all these productions from Madlib, Oh No, Alchemist and Karriem Riggins I was expecting a bit more I guess. Don’t get me wrong. This album has some dope joints on there like “INT’L” produced by Georgia Anne Muldrow and “Classic” produced by Karriem Riggins. Man I love waking up Saturday morning with video’s like these. I guess it kinda reminds me of Yo MTV Raps! MED‘s “Blaxican” was produced by Madlib and is taken from the “Classic” album dropping November 1st. The video was director by Mochilla’s Eric Coleman and shot in LA as you can see.
Brand new track by aDaD called “Wishful Thoughts” produced by Illmind. In the past he has already worked with people such as Q-Tip, Madlib, Exile, and Waajeed so you know the man is fire. He’ll be dropping an untitled mixtape later this year as well as a full project with Exile so be on the look out for that.

Madlib‘s “Medicine Show #9: Channel 85 presents Nittyville”, a full-length hip-hop album featuring Detroit’s Frank Nitt, will be out May 17 on Stones Throw as on CD as well as on limited edition 3/LP vinyl. Nittyville is also perhaps the most traditional of the series: one MC, one producer, and a rap record all about stunts, blunts and hip-hop. In 2008 Stones Throw created a triple 12-inch box set, all based around the Miami Winter Music party “Hella International”. Piet Parra did the sleeve. Madlib remixed two J Dilla tracks from Ruff Draft, “The $” and “Make ‘em NV” that appeared exclusively on this box set. Many of the other tracks – collabs between artists like Dam-Funk & Baron Zen, Four Tet & Aloe Blacc, Percee P & Koushik, Madlib & Karriem Riggins (as Supreme Team) – also appeared here first, and were later released the Chrome Children Vol. 2 CD. This remains the only vinyl release for most of these tracks and Stones Throw has a limited amount for sale again, so get a copy of this limited edition vinyl HERE!
