“LA♥JPN♥LA” Vol. 1 is a collection of tracks from L.A. and Japanese artists to support the earthquake victims of Japan. This compilation features L.A. producers like DāM-FunK, Samiyam, Carlos Nino & Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Mike Gao, Ras G as well as numerous beatmakers from Japan such as Mitsu The Beats & Fitz Ambro$e. Extra low bitrate this time, because we really urge you to make a purchase at LA♥JPN♥LA, Vol. 1 - Various Artists. All proceeds go to Japanese earthquake relief so be a good sport and show some Japan Love!

Quite weird we never did a post about Ben Jones before. Always knew he was responsible for some great productions, but I just discovered some new gems he produced. Hadn’t heard this Leon King song before that goes by the name of “Fresh”. What ever happened to Leon….where you at bro? Also hadn’t heard this crazy nice Ben Jones remix of Matti Roots‘ track “OCD” before. Don’t know if they are still in the demo-fase, but these need to find their way out into the world if you ask me!

So it’s been a while, but last month the Letherette‘s duo from the UK dropped their new “Letherette” EP 2 on Ho_tep. It’s been out for a minute, but no reason not to share it with those that missed it. Really liking the sound of “Bruse” with it’s heavy bass. Go get it at Letherette, Vol. 2 - EP - Letherette or for you vinyl freaks head over to Boomkat.

I saw this bad ass Opolopo remix of Tomson and Benedict‘s “Blind” come by earlier today. It features Bantu Soul and comes with some very promising remixes by Alton Miller and Opolopo. Check out a sneak preview of Opo’s Boogie Remix and expect the full digital to release on September 5th via Tone Control Music.

Head over to Eye See - Isaac Aesili to purchase.

Very early sneak peak at the upcoming Finest Ego compilation. This time it’s the United Kingdom and Ireland that get to represent their hood. There’s some good stuff on here, but for me the biggest song was “Blurry Dream” by fLako, who moved to the UK just to be a part of this compilation. Check out the Finest Ego Bandcamp to check out what is coming August 5th. Buy links will follow in due time.
