BBE is dropping bombs again. After some crazy compilation albums like DJ Spinna‘s “The Boogie Back” and John Morales‘ “The M&M Mixes” they’re back with some hot Ghetto Disco, Funk & African Boogie. Kon & Amir drop “Off Track Vol. III: Brooklyn” on us with a bang. We thought it would be nice to give ya’ll a taste of what you can expect from this double action packed album, by sharing Kon’s Continuous Mix. The album will be out later this month and can be bought HERE.

For those that don’t know…Arthur Verocai is composer/arranger from Brasil. He has worked with giants as Jorge Ben, Gal Costa and Leny Andrade, but hiphop heads know him for his often sampled (by Ludacris, MF Doom and Little Brother) self-titled solo album. The album came out at the height of the Brasilian dictatorship and was a commercial failure. According to Verocai, he had never played the record, “alive or dead”! His delight at the opportunity to play this music in its complete form can be seen on the Timeless DVD box set (which is f*cking amazing).

This song, “Flying to L.A.” was written specifically for the concert at the Luckman. It starts with open drums by Mamao from the famed Brasilian trio Azymuth, and then goes on a beautiful harmonic journey. Massive props to VTech and Mochilla for this beautiful initiative.

In just two more weeks the third installment of the L.A. Series drops. This time you get Ras G & The Afrikan Space Program (Poobah) and Samiyam (Brainfeeder/Hyperdub) on the same EP. Shout out to Olan and the other at All City Records for providing us with a shitload of music these past few months. Our friends at RBMA dropped this new joint “Fishsticks” (low-res) today, so we decided to share it as well. My favourite joint is “Space” by Sam so pre-order the EP at Rush Hour if you want the whole shebang..

Korean American TOKiMONSTA (aka bunny beast) is dropping her long awaited “Cosmic Intoxication” EP April 29th on Ramp. Stones Throw’s Abassador of Boogie Funk Dãm-Funk did a bangin’ ass cover of “The Things Dreams Are Made Of” by synth-pop band The Human League. Eventhough today is April Fools’ the following is no joke. Shoe brand Dr. Martens celebrates it’s 50-year-anniversary and for this special occasion the brand asked ten modern-day producers to remake a cult classic in their own style. All tracks come with a videoclip and man is this one crazy! FREE download of course..

Dam-Funk – Things That Dreams Are Made Of

Onra just dropped a brand new double A sided 12″ on Allcity Records. Nev was going nuts about the “High Hopes” remake featuring Reggie B, but seeing the original is a classic I chose to stream another joint. The entire release seems to be a homage to the eighties Boogie/Funk genre, but with a Hip Hop twist. The album drops in April and has the same name as the 12″. Let us know what you think of this funky release and don’t forget to BUY it if you like what you hear.

Onra – Oper8tor

Floating Points aka Sam the Scientist is back with another 12″ on Eglo Records. On the A-side we find “Peoples Potential” which was already out on a limited white label and is now officially released with “Shark chase” on the flip side. Floating Points – Peoples Potential (snippet)

For years Chicago’s Kenny Keys and MC Adad have garnered attention as solo artists and together as Eulorhythmics the duo have collaborated to create a new soulful album. It’s actually been a while since I heard something like Hot N Nasty, and I surely hope there is more like this on it’s way. The album entitled Green St. & Avers will be released on April 13th on All Natural Inc. Thanks to Meezyart for the hookup.
