I wanted to start off by saying happy B-day to my man FS!!! Congratz on turning 21 and thanks for the mail you sent us. For everybody who wants to congratulate him in person, I suggest you swing by the ‘Duivel’ this friday. Together with Full Crate, Hayzee, SirOJ, Mar and our own Deluge they’ll be throwing the last Once Again ever. It’s free so get ya swerve on and peep the flyer after the jump.

For the love of it Element & FS Green dropped a new joint on us called “Pacquiao”. This Toronto cat Element found the beat on FS Green’s State Beat Tape and recorded this track to it. FS heard the song online and instantly co-signed it. I got one thing to say…get that money!

You might have noticed that BBE has been releasing some real quality compilations lately. One I’ve been looking forward to is this new DJ Spinna presents: The Boogie Back” album that will be out November 24th. We uploaded the “Boogie Bundle Mix” to our Mixcloud and just like the “Strange Breaks & Mr. Thing Vol. II” you can give it a listen, before you decide to purchase it HERE. Here’s what BBE had to say about the compilation…

A cornerstone of Hip-Hop’s late 90’s indie-uprise, DJ Spinna made much of his first impression on listeners as the musical background of his group The Jigmastas (having released an impressive slew of 12″ singles on his then self-run label Beyond Real during this time) as well as providing the canvas for an array of that era’s lyrical giants. As an emcee in New York City, if you didn’t have a Spinna production under your belt, well, you just hadn’t accomplished all there was to accomplish. Everyone from Mos Def, Talib Kweli to Pharaohe Monch boasted Spinna beats to prove their worth to the scene. At the height of indie-kingpin Rawkus Records heyday, Spinna was in demand, also churning out timeless classics of the era from the likes of J-Live, Mr. Complex and The Polyrhythm Addicts (his all-too-brief collabo-group with Apani B., Shaabam Sadeeq and Complex). Spinna is back with his latest foray into the world of boogie.

You might remember this young buck that came out of nowhere and blew away the crowd at the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull. Well 1st Angle is back with another, short but flavorful, 8-bit inspired beat called “Don’t Stop”. It dropped via Beat M Up so nuff respect for those cats! Hope to hear more music from you soon Alex…keep it up. Photo credits go to Ismail Pinto…1luv

buff1-the-best-are-full-of-love

Buff1 has decided he won’t be leaving 2009 without releasing something for the people. He’s currently finalizing details to release a project, “It’s a 1derful Life”, on December 2nd. The project will feature many of his most coveted guest appearances as well as new and unreleased music. “The Best Are Full of Love” was originally recorded by Shawn Jackson for the “The New Classics” mixtape, but didn’t make the it onto the tape. A sick Cook Classics production with new verses from Buff and Diz Gibran make this a sick first release from Buff1’s upcoming project. Thanks to A-Side Worldwide and 2dopeboyz. Sidenote: As a ‘thank you’ to all of his supporters, Buff has decided the project will be a free download!

Red Bull Music Academy 2010 participant Illum Sphere drops the first vinyl ep of a two part album. Long Live The Plan features six new tracks plus a Samiyam remix. I personally first heard of  Illum Sphere from MyManHenri, who put me on to this Illum Sphere Dublab Mix. After hearing the 7′ with Mono/Poly we knew Illum Sphere was someone to follow in 2010. This new EP is scheduled for a december release, but already got a first spin on Benji B and Mary Anne Hobbs.  You can head over to Fat City for more info, or just follow Illum Sphere on Twitter..

Secondhand Sureshots is a filmed experiment in creative sound recycling. Dublab directors Bryan “Morpho” Younce & Mark “frosty” McNeill sent beatmakers Daedelus, Nobody, J.Rocc and Ras G on safari into L.A. thrift stores with orders to make new music out of five finds while the cameras filmed the whole process. The result is a mini-documentary about putting new life into old vinyl.  Over 2 hours of footage, music & bonus material. Stonesthrow

Paul Pre is on a killin’ spree. Last week he dropped a mix with Musique Large, this week he’s dropping this Moovmnt mix hosted by us and who knows what he’s dropping next week. Paul describes this mix as a relaxed mix for the autumn mood. Nice selection and hop you all enjoy this one. Tracklist after the jump..and best believe it’s full of laid back electronic music. You can also check out this mix on our Mixcloud.

wslee

We’ve been meaning to post this one for while, but never got around to it. Devonwho was tweeting about this cat Weslee a while back and we checked out his “The Other Sides Vol. 3” release full of dope beat snippets. Short, but full of potential we were left hungering for more. Luckily we found “The Other Sides Vol. 2” as well and we wouldn’t be Moovmnt now if we didn’t share these two gems with you guys.

Weslee Connerzs currently resides in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Primarily he does folk ballads and plays the midi flute, but whenever he’s not doin that he makes beats. The Other Sides volumes was an experimental attempt to expand his sound and the overall feedback he gets, will determine whether or not he’ll out more of this type of material. A true diamond in the ruff if you ask us and definitely able to develop himself a lot more if he decides to keep on doing beats.
