Scolla is a Cameroonian-American vocalist from Detroit who’d rather “Play It Cool” and be a happy fool instead of a troubled youth.

To commemorate the release of his new OG Cool (Red October Edition) Beanie, Scolla decided to release this song he did together with Skewby from Memphis. The production was done by Mindlabs and iRocksays with additional production by DrewsThatDude.

Nowadays we don’t post that much Hip Hop music anymore, but when the vibe is right and the message is positive it’s all butta. And thankfully this track is available for free download, so go snatch this one up.

Melbourne, Australia is home of many talented musicians. Our latest discovery is from down under and goes by the name of Queen Magic aka Nick Mulhall.

Nick is a multi-talented instrumentalist who also sings. He met photographer Charlie Brophy by chance recently through a mutual friend and they hit it off right away. Queen Magic’s silky debut song is entitled “I Don’t Want” and it embodies what Nick enjoys in life. Both musically and visually. The song is lush with smooth synths and is perfect to enjoy on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Nice and mellow, mellow…right on.

Head on over to Queen Magic’s Bandcamp and scoop up a free download!

Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND are two German producers that have been making thunder this year. Some of our favorite remixes are coming out of Germany nowadays and to be specific out of Max Graef’s Box Aus Holz camp.

The duo released their “Box Aus Holz 09” EP last week and let me tell you it’s really something else. High end soulful House music that’s well worth your money. We will be getting into this release more later this week though, so stay tuned!

For now kick back and enjoy this 50 minute guest mix Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND made for us and if you like what you hear, please show some love and hit the repost button. Thanks Duktus for delivering fine artwork again. Oh and in case you were wondering, this one is available as a free download.

Next Saturday The Foreign Exchange (Phonte & Nicolay) will be performing in Amsterdam. We thought it would be an awesome idea to squeeze all of our favorite FE related songs into one 50 minute mix.

In our opinion this mix is a great introduction for anyone to get to know The Foreign Exchange. At the same time it’s a recap for the die-hard fans, who’ve been enjoying their music for a decade. Grab a free download of ‘The Foreign Exchange Moovmnt’s Favs Mix‘ or just enjoy it on Soundcloud.

FYI…The Foreign Exchange will be performing at People’s Place (Amsterdam) October 4th, 2014. We’ll be hosting the event so don’t be shy and come enjoy some incredible music with us. There’s still some tickets left, so get yours right now!

For those that don’t know, Wavefiles is a party in Amsterdam that is setting the trend. In the past they have brought artists like fLako, Stwo, Samiyam, Om Unit, IAMNOBODI, 813 and Chloe Martini to the Dutch capitol. And now it’s Evil Needle‘s turn to strut his stuff. The next edition will take place tomorrow at OT301 with local support from Jarreau Vandal (Soulection) and Sojuju (Flow-Fi).

Luck has it we are giving away some tickets. So if you and a friend would like to go, click this link and follow the description! For those that are not so lucky to be able to catch Evil Needle’s show at Wavefiles, don’t worry. Enjoy his track “Antidote” of the last Soulection compilation.

A couple of days ago I quickly download Freddie Joachim‘s new “Leaves” EP. For some reason I just did not get around to giving it a proper listen. Until now.

Let’s not be too picky, for this project has been made available for free download by Mellow Orange. As we celebrate or dread the annual transition from Summer to Autumn, Freddie Joachim provides the perfect soundtrack. Nice little Kool and The Gang remake, but for us “Wait” is the winning track! Head on over to Freddie’s Bandcamp page to pick this one up for free and enjoy the last days of summer.

Chris McClenney is at it again. This time he ‘Selflessly’ donates the track “Peace” for Visual Vibez‘s non-profit project. Earlier today Chris announced his goal to move out to Los Angeles before July 15th next year. And I’m very sure young Chris McClenney will reach his goal for the world is his oyster.

Two weeks ago Singularis (aka Frank de Bruin) from the Netherlands dropped his track “Shadows“, which is also on the “Selfless” project. I wrote a nice piece on Okayfuture in case you would like to read more about that.

Please make sure you make a donation to support art & music. This time all proceeds go to Playing for Change Foundation.

Just got back from Barcelona, so sorry for a week without any posts. We left you with a free compilation and bring you another one, this time from Darker Than Wax.

The fellas from Singapore have been doing their thing for quite some time and to celebrate the fact they hit “10K” Facebook likes, they released a compilation (free of charge). The release features new music from Sh?m, Trian, Moods, Ka-Yu, Jaël, Kerem Akdag, Jasper Staal and many more.

Treat yourselves to some brand new beats and keep an eye out for Darker Than Wax in case you haven’t been doing so yet!

Soulection and Stussy teamed up for a collaboration. They put together an exclusive ‘Soulection Tribe’ t-shirt as well as a compilation featuring what they feel is ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’ from their worldwide musical network.

The launch is today at at the Stussy La Brea location, so make sure you line-up for one of those t-shirts.  They will be limited and only sold on Friday at the La Brea store…first come, first served. Following the in-store, the official after party will take place at The Echoplex later tonight.

The compilation contains new heaters from Evil Needle, Sango, IAMNOBODI, Ta-Ku, Mr. Carmack, Jay Prince, Sivey, Esta, Jarreau Vandal, Sam Gellaitry and many more dope artists. Make sure you grab this one and pay whatever amount you seem fit.

Amin Payne & Ben Bada Boom‘s “Collision” album gets revisited by an impressive line-up of producers from all over the globe.

What we have here is ten brand new sounds of which nine are remixes and one is a bonus track. In case you were wondering who is part of this remix orgy, here’s the list. We have Dutch producer Moods (Darker Than Wax) holdin’ it down, French producer Evil Needle (HW&W/Soulection) and last, but definitely not least German die hard (with a vengeance) Suff Daddy (MPM) bringing the Funk. Other names on this remix project are Submerse, Elaquent, Chief, MFP, Melodiesinfonie and Budamonk.

Cascade was kind enough to give us an exclusive premiere of Amin Payne and Ben Bada Boom’s upcoming project. And don’t forget where you heard Suff Daddy’s funkadelic remix of “Uturn Meon” first! Pre-orders are available so get your 12-inch vinyl, cassette’s or digital freak on. P.S. the track is now available for free download!
