Lord Echo is an eccentric and reclusive musician/producer based in Wellington, New Zealand. The past months we’ve been hearing some incredible new joints from Marco Polo featuring golden era favorites such as Organized Konfusion, Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, O.C. and Mc Eiht. We thought we’d wait till “Port Authority 2: The Directors Cut” was out and that day is here. A lot of banging beats featuring a cast of incredible lyricists is the result. For the lovers of that original boom bap hip hop…this is for you!

Early 2012 the Robert Glasper Experiment unleashed “Black Radio” in to the world. It became highly celebrated and for this reason we at Moovmnt had high expectations of it’s successor. Though “Black Radio” 2 offers a solid seventeen songs with an impressive list of featuring artists such as Snoop Dogg, Common, Jill Scott, Brandy, Dwele, Faith Evans, Norah Jones, Macy Gray and Marsha Ambrosius. In our opinion it lacks the freshness and originality of the first volume. Still we believe a lot of you will love this album and for this reason we suggest you listen to it from beginning to end, purchase it if you desire and enjoy it to the fullest if you can.

23.10.13

One of our favorite Japanese labels, Wonderful Noise, has released it’s 31st release. And it’s a big one at that! Release no. 31 is Julien Dyne‘s third album “December”. The New Zealander has really outdone himself again this time and comes harder than a slab of concrete. Bangin’ beats with some vocal additions from Mara TK, Parks, She’s So Rad and Dalziel complete the circle. Watch for the imited 8-track EP and note that BBE will also release this one later this year. All in all…a definite cop!

19.10.13

Black Milk has a new album out entitled “No Poison No Paradise”. We gave it a quick listen and found it rather enjoyable at times. With songs such as Chords and Parallels featuring Ab, Mr. Milk manages to create some neck snappage. The cherry on top accoring to us is “Sonny Jr. (Dreams)” featuring Robert Glasper & Dwele G, so get some Poison on iTunes.

Spending all that time in Frisco made me realize that the Bay area has quite some talent. Rojai and E-Live are two guys I met on my trip and when they told me they had just released an album together, Their song “Hardpressed” is on the new “Tempo Dreams” Vol. 2 compilation brought to you by Teeko, B. Bravo and Bastard Jazz. Also look out for The Starship Connection’s “We Can Go All Night” on 7-inch vinyl or just cop the entire 2xLP while you’re at it.
