This weekend team Moovmnt was out and about enjoying the sound of Andreya Triana, Moodymann and Omar at Birdfest in Rotterdam. Quit the surprise when this morning we come across a brand new remix by our buddy Opolopo from Stockholm. The song “Treat You” featuring Caron Wheeler gets a super stylish soulful club rework. Both the 12″ vinyl and digital files can be purchased at Kudos.

Earlier this month we visited L.A. and had a blast. We arrived, bounced to the hotel and went straight to the KPFK studio to meet up with Santana from TruthSeekers radio. Much love for inviting me and B. Bravo to do a little guest mix on the show. We played some music and had a blast. Thought you might want to hear some of the gems we let loose that night. Oh and big up to the L.A. fam for holdin’ it down!

26.07.13

LA based producer/singer/songwriter Seven Davis Jr. is soon to release his debut solo EP, entitled “One”, on Must Have Records. Remember our previous post a few years back with J.Mitchell? Think smooth vocals, rough & rugged club beats with a twist of summer time. Davis’ EP is gonna be out on 12″ vinyl and he is supposedly also working on new project with Funkineven. Listen to this exclusive stream and stay tuned for a buy link!!

21.03.13

I feel smooth when I’m groovin’…that kinda sums up what I was feeling when I just heard this sultry summer song from vocalist Nikki-O entitled “Music”. It released on vinyl together with a Paul Hill song on the flipside on KDJ’s Mahogani Music label. Head on over to Rush Hour in case you need u some Detroit niceness..

11.01.13

Sauce81 aka Sauce Eighty Wonder scored some serious points last year with his tremendously nice remix for Julien Dyne. Nobu is without a doubt one of our favorite producers hailing from Tokyo Japan! His debut “Fade Away” EP is available as of today on Wonderful Noise, but there is also talk of a debut solo album dropping later this year Disque Corde. The 12″ is now available at HHV.

10.11.12

Way under the radar we stumbled upon the “Chips N Chittlins” project from Paul Randolph & Zed Bias. This was released via P-Vine earlier this year and has been available on CD and digitally for a while as well. Head over to Juno if you’d like to buy the CD or try your luck on Chips n Chittlins - Paul Randolph and Zed Bias Present Japan.

Full of new music inspiration this week! Yesterday our buddy Front2blaq made us hip to UK’s James Welsh and this nasty little tune from 2011 called “Nastro Azzuro”. Super sexy synths that’ll warm you right up on a sunny, yet cold Sunday like this. ‘If there’s a remedy I don’t want it’…for those that still have a (love)hangover from yesterday. Enjoy, but remember to sleep in…not sleep on!

James Welsh – Nastro Azzuro (Original Mix)

Big up to Detroit producer extraordinair Waajeed for coming with some next level niceness once again. Jeedo debuts his brand new Electric Street Orchestra today on his Soundcloud page and let me tell you this shit is crackin’! This single will be out in five days on Dirt Tech Reck and contains two songs. The A-side contains “Scorpio” featuring Mad Mike Banks & UR-043, while the B-side is blessed with “M.F.A.” (Master Funk Association) which features Theo Parrish, Andres & Duminie. In this particular case I will be saying Tech-YES instead of Techno.

Almost uncanny how Grooveman Spot starts off on his new “Paradox” album, out on Japanese Jazzy Sport, because I always love me some good ol’ downtempo smoothness to start things off. Like he read my mind. After having heard “Groove Me” I was already sold, but as my ears wandered off they heard so much depth and warmth on this album. I can only begin to describe it as a personal journey from Beats to House music all the while flirting with some Funk. Japan is home of a few next level producers of which Grooveman Spot is definitely one! Listen to a preview below and get your copy at Paradox - Grooveman Spot right now.

Last month I was checking out some new snippets from Andres‘ brand new “Second Time Around” EP on his La Vida label. Must have dozed off, because the 12″ is already out and available at Clone Records for a tenner. You might have heard another version of “Hart Plaza” before, but this new version has some additional synth work from Amp Dog Knight.
