A few weeks back you might’ve caught my man Nilez’ post about Sotu the Traveller’s latest album “Left“. Apart from the “HourGlass” video, Sotu now also released an “HourGlass Remixes” EP, which features an impressive lineup of producers. None other than Dyno, Daisuke Tanabe, Portformat and Louis Bordeaux have been brought together to remix Sotu’s single. I myself am a big fan of Louis’ remix which you can check out below alongside Daisuke’s. You can check out the other remixes and cop the EP on Sotu’s website.

Swedish producer Erik L is back again with the fourth release on Soularp Records. This time in collaboration with Jackson, MS emcee 7even:Thirty . Erik L is known for his soulful and funk driven instrumental music, but also his work with the groups Favorite Flava and Supersci as well as artists like Frank n Dank and Cerebral Vortex to name a few. He plays a mixture of live instruments to attain his characteristic harmonic style. Since a young age 7even:Thirty, who also is a producer has worked diligently at developing his own sound, a sound he describes as a “futurefunkylectrosoulop soundscape for the ears and mind.” His first LP “Star”: The Seven Thirty Experience” has been cited an album that fans of good hip-hop music can spend some serious time enjoying and has been moving off of shelves, both physical and virtual, and out of the trunk of 7even:Thirty’s spaceship. The Rhyme Travelin EP features the Philadelphia emcee / producer Hezekiah on the track Future Flow along with guest appearances by Fulgeance, Paul Mac Innes and Stray. A year after there 1st release “State-Ik” the production trio from Amsterdam decided it was time for there first album. StatikMusic exciting out of the members SkullY, AllOne and R.I.L. saying this album “BEAT+1” was there first project. On June 30^th they feel the world is ready for there masterpiece. BEAT+1 is an instrumental album based on a story, with variations like FeelGood, SoulFullGrime etc. Statik show there diversity without losing there sound. Today we visited HVW8 and bumped into Ty and Computer Jay’s girlfriend. Afterwards I-Ced and Black Spade (Hawthorne Headhunters) dropped by and we had a few beers and a whole lot of laughs. Really like this picture I took of them and Anthony Valadez. While he’s listening to and chopping up some Miguel Atwood-Ferguson piano play, I’m writing this. Thank you L.A. for anoher great day!
