UK massive in the house. This Friday our big buddy TY and RBMA-ninja Kidkanevil are going to perform in the upstairs room of Amsterdam’s Paradiso. We were asked to host the evening and of course we said yes. MOOVMNT at PARADISO starts of with TY who’ll be performing a lot of new material of his brand new “Special Kind of Fool” album. To bring the transition from Hip Hop to more electronic styles of music, the little homie Jameszoo is going to play some tunes. I heard through the grapevine that he’s releasing his debut album later this year, but more info on that soon. To end the evening Kidkanevil is going to do a Live set with an whole array of different styles of electronic music. Keywords are wonky, dubby and who knows what else he’s got in store. If you were impressed by his “Basho Basho” album, come support this upcoming producer.

Not only do you get two live shows…you can also visit Oi! afterwards for FREE. Breakage, Distance, N-Type, Gomes & Brutuzz will be playing some bangin’ Dubstep in the main room downstairs in case you want to go apeshit till the break of dawn.

Better known to friends, family, and Friends of Friends, as the 20-year-old Henry Laufer, the SF-by-LA producer Shlohmo returns with Camping, a digi-EP celebrating the May 24th first-run vinyl release of this year’s Shlohmoshun Deluxe LP. Having already headlined LA’s premiere beat-based party, Low End Theory as well as being featured by XLR8R, the BBC (Mary Anne Hobbs), LA Times and more. As far as titles go, Camping is particularly apropos; the outdoor and indoor collide as Shlohmo’s selection of found sounds rub up agianst the technology of 8-bit blap & subwoofer stress tests in three new tracks. Additional amenities include remixes from hotly tipped LA music maker Baths and fellow up-and-comer Asura (on the AWESOME new LA label, Non Projects) as well as recent Ghostly International signing Shigeto. Tonight we bring that SOUL flava to the MiNiBAR and to help us with this, we invited local legend DJ Manga. This cat has been spinning for decades and is older than time itself (just kidding). Seriously though. Manga is well known here in Amsterdam for his ‘Legends’ party that he’s been doing together with Supreme Cuisine in the Paradiso for some time now. We’d like to invite everyone in the 020 area to drop by and have a drink with us. If you like that soulful music don’t be shy…we’ll see you tonight!

In order to promote his new music/fashion platform Bluntsports, upcoming producer and founder Bluntspeakers made this mix as an introduction. The Bluntsports team consist of HighLess, J’Dicious, Mitch Bridges, Royal Mugls, Whodat, and Daniel Williams. Welsh production crew Darkhouse Family aka Don Leisure and Metabeats drop their debut “Family Trees” EP via Fat City. Heavy synth-work, syrupy melodies, processed sample snippets is what you can expect. You all must know about that banger “Stay Blazed” as featured on the Producer #2 album and on “Mein Atari” they asked Mr. Dibiase to flip the shit out of it in his very own style. Also loving the Bonus Digital Cut “Mediation” which has that Darkhouse flava of dubwise-blunted Hip Hop. Check out the snippets and buy if you like what you hear!

Timeless is finally in a store near you and to celebrate this occasion VTech and Mochilla have come together for an amazing once in a lifetime event. On June 18th, live on stage at the historic Los Angeles Theatre Center, they present Arthur Verocai LIVE! He’s coming all the way from Rio de Janeiro with an all-star 12-piece band, while I’ll be coming all the way from Amsterdam with the homie Marcelo. Hopefully we arrive in L.A. hours before the show, but no matter what I have to see this.

FYI….this event is FREE!! All you have to do is go to www.mochilla.com and follow the instructions. The sign-up page will go live tomorrow night (June 10th) at midnight and will come down on Friday night at the same time. There are only 200 pairs of tickets available so they’re holding lottery drawings. Sign up with a valid email address (one per person) and you could be one of the lucky two hundred. To top it off there will be a very special after-party with surprise guests…

VTech and Mochilla will also be screening the Timeless: Arthur Verocai concert DVD on the 16th and 17th of June at the Independent Downtown Theater, with Arthur making a special Q&A session appearance. Finally Arthur will be on KCRW for a super exclusive “Morning Becomes Eclectic” Live Performance on June 17th from 11:15AM to Noon, so don’t miss that!
