A while back I got my hands on the new Grooveman Spot album and one of the first tracks that caught my attention was “Affection” featuring Ahu. She was so kind to inform me that the “Change Situations” single had just gone online for sale. Check out the flipside with my man Erik Rico, cuz he makes it funky! The full album is going to drop in a few on Planetgroove. Get that digital dope via ![]()

Meanwhile Seano did a 1-take mix and this is the result. This is some Jazz/Breaks/Funk shit with a lot of samples/originals. It was aired on a local radio station (Soundwaves Radio) and Seano wanted to share it with anybody who might be interested. Although it’s not your avarage Moovmnt post, it’s the foundation of a lot of modern day music and we grew up on this shit. So we thought you’d might like something slighty different for a change. Later today we’ll be dropping a little mix of our own, so we won’t leave you hungry while we’ll be on our way to London. RBMA here we come..

Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh will also be extending invites for the farewell party to fellow emcees Torae, Truck North, Jozeemo, Chaundon and Median, while crooner Darien Brockington and chanteuse Yahzarah are on hand to add a touch of the melodious to the album. Enjoy the first official leak produced by Khrysis called “Curtain Call”.

I must say I found it very intriging and too bad we had to miss this one. Hopefully next week we’ll have the honor of seeing Muhsinah, J.Rocc or even Flying Lotus on that couch. Really feeling D-F on never giving up on your dreams and letting nobody hold you back. Check out what else he had to say and get out the popcorn for this…enjoy!
Heard Dorian Concepts “Play With Sand” a while back on Ritornells “The Absence of One” mix for Percussion Lab. Now I just received this in my inbox, and feel like i should share this with you. It’s only a stream cause we don’t know it this will be an official release, but if he ever decides to release it we suggest you to buy it. And if you feel like you should buy something right now you can still get “When Planets Explode” on Rushhour.

Mayer Hawthorne & James Pants have covered each other’s songs, Mayer doing “Thin Moon” and James doing “Green Eyed Love“. Now our very first pick is one that we are truly very excited about. We’ve been friends with Jay Hats for a while and admire his musical genius. Just like LaMelodia, Jay is also from Eindhoven. And next to being a producer, he’s also a sound engineer.
Jay Hats’ music is best described as a crossing between tropical world music (loaded with frantic percussion) and contemporary club music. Jay’s music sounds like an honest breath of fresh air on a warm summer night and we dare you to take a dive into this tropical, future vintage. Let Jay take you on a trip around the world with a wide variety of arrangements cleverly blended into one album.
Together with Jay we’ve been working on getting his debut album the release it deserves and we are happy to inform you that it will be out this summer. Stay tuned on more music from the tall man…soon! Keep smiling bro..oh and follow Jay on Twitter or Facebook!
Jay Hats – Playing Her Feat. Rones (Laidback Intro)

Anyhow…the track that stands out on Joob‘s “Nebula” EP is “Sagatriaus B”, which begins with a short sample from that movie. With other tracks like “Galactic Geek” you can really feel that spacey vibe he tried to give out with this EP. Shit is pretty much out there so I suggest you give it a listen…it’s FREE! Download it HERE and props to Olof for the heads up.

Here in Amsterdam the sun has just began to show itself and already women are pulling out their short skirts upon feeling the very first rays of sunlight. Anyhow…this is a fantastic video for a fantastic song. Can’t really add a lot more except that it was directed by Henry DeMaio and that Stones Throw deserves some props for this one again.
I just wanted to share this Dam-Funk pickup with you, because this is one of the few records I’ve actually bought in the last year. The packaging of the “Toeachizown” box set crazy nice and I urge you all to pick this one HERE at the Stones Throw webshop. It’s well worth the money if you ask me. Shout out to Damon & Jamie for this one!
