FunkinEven 1956 is the latest artist to join the ranks of Eglo records (Floating Points / Alexander Nut). Featuring the incredible vocal talent of Swedish born/Hackney bred artist Fatima (who some of you will recognize through collaborations with SA-RA’s Shafiq Husayn and Stones Throws Dam-Funk) Kleer is the title track taken from the forthcoming 4 track EP, which showcases Funkineven’s individual futuristic soul bounce. Being his debut release we felt it only right to go all out and press the vinyl up on clear wax, so hold tight for the finished product. Having already been heavily supported in it’s demo form by 1Xtra’s Benji B, the track is now finished, mastered and ready to take on the globe!
West Londoner FunkinEven creates sounds that inhabit a similar atmosphere to The Neptunes, Model 500 and Bugz In The Attic just as much as they do Cameo, NPG and Zapp. Take a listen and invent your own labels… we just know that everytime it’s been performed live it has most definitely “blown up tha spot!”. The full EP will also feature two B side tacks ‘Mad Swing’ and ‘You’, which where previously available as rough versions on the net but have now been finished, polished and mastered for your bumping enjoyment. Their debut full-length album, “In The Ruff”, is out today via Mello Music Group. The album, which features two brand new tracks from the group as well as their hard to come by material from a limited release this spring, is available in stores and on iTunes. One of the just-released tracks is “Something For Y’all” produced by Kev Brown. While District member Oddisee produces the vast majority of Diamond District’s songs himself, working with Brown hardly involved leaving the group’s comfort zone. “Working with Kev is honestly keeping it in-house – he founded the Low Budget Crew and gave birth to everything that I’m doing right now. We wanted that signature Kev Brown sound- grimy soul.”
“Something For Y’all” showcases emcees Oddisee, X.O. and yU trading verses, rapping to their audience, and trying to upstage each other. The track has a distinctively old school vibe. This old school spirit is one of the attributes that has made Diamond District’s debut so hotly anticipated. “In The Ruff” is available now as digital download and on CD via Mello Music Group…(via Audible Treats)

Thanks to our buddies at Stones Throw for the 411..
Just got an email from our homie Koen from Blocnotes about a producer from the Netherlands called Nangdo. He’s all about chopping up 70’s/soul/breakbeats/whatever- stuff. We’re really excited about this “02” track and you’d better keep your eyes on this cat from Groningen, cuz he’s making moves next year. He finished his new mixtape and is doing some beats for several dutch MC’s. European and Stateside MC’s…better holla at this guy before he blows up.

If you want to own each and every single one of these rarities, be sure to buy this sick ass compilation HERE. In the meanwhile visit our Mixcloud to check out the mix!

You might have noticed that Moovmnt was nowhere to be found or looked like shit the past week. Unfortunately we were attacked by malware which has caused some serious downtime for the site. Thanks to our brother Tetsuo from Nutriot, we’re back in business! Sad to say we’ve lost our uploads folder which results in a massive number of posts that aren’t working properly now. The next couple of weeks we’ll be working day and night to get everything up and running like it was and rest assure we’ll be picking up exactly where we left off. Thanks everybody for showing love and support. We’ve had countless messages from people who said they were praying for us.
We got some exclusive ish from our peeps over at INSIDE HQ. Their theme titled track “!NSiDE” features DC/UK soul brotha OliverDaySoul and was produced by Mood Schula. These cats from Seoul are really holding shit down so stay tuned for more killer music from the likes of Simo, Mood Schula & Flyherro! Massive props to Kris from Insoulmusic…

Basically this is an old mix that my man Crate had lying around from a while back and he didn’t want to keep it from ya’ll. We were supposed to host this mix, but due to the malware issues we were having our buddy Nalden picked this one up. A nice new classic soul mix to make love to…isn’t that what nearly every Full Crate song is made for 😉 Tracklist cound be found after the jump..and photo credits to Pat Jay.

Last time we wrote about this young cat, he hooked up with Full Crate & Mar on “Make Me Laugh”. After this he dropped his 8 track EP entitled “Synergy” with one of his best friends, Lucid. His latest release “All In” carries a poker theme throughout and reminds you that life’s a gamble. You can either play your hand, or you can fold…right where you stand. In case you were wondering…Pajozo did a fine job on the production side things.
