As warm up for the Red Bull Music Academy 2011 in Tokyo, UK Garage legend MJ Cole will be doing a free RBMA workshop during Amsterdam’s 5 Days Off event at Club Up (March 5th). A second artist might be confirmed later, but more info on the event on Facebook. All musicians can apply for this years RBMA untill April 4th, so don’t hesitate and fill out those forms!

On another note…MJ Cole is about to release his “Satellite” EP after the weekend and we just had to give you guys a little sneak peak in the form of this preview. Really liking this mellowed out Dubstep joint “Hawaii” with those subtle harp melodies we know to be his trademark.

VA’s miss Tiffany Paige is best known for her work with Talib Kweli, DOOM, John Robinson, J Rawls, Zo! (Foreign Exchange), Scienz of Life, Khrysis, Carlos Nino and many more. You might have seen a few posts before where her name was mentioned, but she’s back in the studio working on some new music. First up is an unreleased gem produced by Zo! entitled “Seasons” (from ’05 via Phonte). It was supposed to be on her “Dreamwalk” album which never got released. “Such:a:challenge” was produced by ID 4 Windz (Scienz of Life) & Ty Macklin and can be downloaded for FREE at Tiffany’s Bandcamp. “Quadrivium” is the first of several projects from Eric Lau to be released in 2011. The release is made up of 20 instrumentals, and features a more edgy side to Lau’s production. Each track was painstakingly crafted before being mastered by infamous engineer Tim Debney (Thom Yorke, Julian Casablancas).

A collaborative effort from these guys of songs done over the years during the time of the “Go and Get Down With Me” LP’s from Reggie B, which both albums include songs from this time period. Twelve tracks deep, Trackademicks handles 100% of the production duties. The record enlists a  healthy dosage of Track’s known collaborative cohorts, including Little Brother/Foreign Exchange founder Phonte (“Fool On The Hill”), Windy City favorite Kid Sister (“Quit Yo Job”), and  the soulful Teedra Moses (“Face The Music”). Along with his own HNRL crew, Oakland favorites Mistah F.A.B. (“Stop It!”) and Goapele (“State Of The Arts”) also make the cut.
