Tonight’s is your chance to finally meet the Eglo Records crew. Miss Fatima who you all should know by now, whether it be from the Red Bull Music Academy 2008, her recent features on Shafiq‘s “En’ A-Free-Ka” album or just from checking our website on a frequent base. Floating Points is another UK artist that has really been making noise in 2009. I remember him sending out “Love Me Like This” and I was like…yeah it’s sound okay. Months later I grew into the sound a lot more and when the “Vacuum” EP dropped I was sold.
So if you want an action-packed evening with soulful, electronic music you’d better mosey on down to Strange Fruit tonight at Grand Hotel Central in Rotterdam. In case you still need to get acquainted, here’s some audio for you to get down to.

Our friends at Skip Intro contacted us with some nice inside info about a producer who is no stranger to Moovmnt. We wanted to shine some more light on this beat maker and the fact he’ll be performing in Amsterdam…so be prepaired to be enlightened.
Born in Chile and now living in both Berlin and London, fLako is one of Europe’s most promising producers at this moment. Whoever you ask within the electronic/beat world will definetely agree. He contributed the banging “Inside” to UpMyAlley‘s “Beatnicks Vol.2 Sampler” and drew worldwide attention on his production skills in 2008/2009 with his “Vortex Cookies Remix”, a track that made any head at any venue in any city in Europe bang like crazy, and has been championed by beat/dubstep pioneers such as Gaslamp Killer, HudMo, Jay Scarlett and others.
fLako who is a close member of the UpMyAlley family hasn’t been playing his trademark set of dancefloor killers live that often, being quite selective in what gigs to play.. So far only Vilnius, Cologne, Vienna and London had the honour of having this guy smashing things to bits&pieces live. Amsterdam is next on the map, don’t miss out on this one. November 13th fLako will make you spill your beer, because you won’t be able to stand still once he starts off! Come witness this all and watch fLako kill it live during SKIP INTRO at the Flexbar in Amsterdam. Our buddy Full Crate will be rocking the party as supportive DJ together with Ebokai, O.Boogie & Shady. Also make sure to check out Skip Intro #5, featuring some of fLako’s joints next to other bassheavy hitters.
This Sunday all our Rotterdam peoples is going to gather at Rotown to get a glimpse at Mayer Hawthorne. Big up to our Strange Fruit fam for putting this together. Now like last time our Beat M Up buddies cooked up a couple of remixes and we wanted to share the Bluntspeakers remix this time. Free download of course and in case you’re wondering about the other remixes, head on over to the BMU website to download those as well.
When Computer Jay told us he was invited by the guys from BD to do his live set at the Viral Radio X Beat Dimensions release party tomorrow, I was kinda psycked. I’ve seen some footage online and can’t wait to check out Jay and his electronic alter ego perform live. Not only will local heroes Cinnaman & Juha be playing, but you can expect a whole lot of dopeness from Danny Breaks (UK), Jay Scarlett and Jay of course! Lets hope he brings some of that LA sunshine to the Trouw building in Amsterdam. In case you didn’t know…go check it out.

Especially for the Visita Family they’re dropping an exclusive mini album. The album contains six different tracks, which will be released during the upcoming three editions off the Visita event. Today a legend told his story to a select group of people and we were lucky enough to be there. Tony Allen is undeniably the best Afrobeat drummer ever and he came all the way to Amsterdam for a Red Bull Music Academy masterclass .
Now RBMA was so nice to give us 20 copies of their “Various Assets” (Barcelona 2008) CD’s to give away to our very own Moovmnt visitors. The CD also contains application info for artists interested in signing up for the RMBA 2010 in London. Leave a comment saying why you should get a copy of the Various Assets CD or ADD us to twitter and DM us! You can also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, but people that leave a comment and our twitter buddies get first dibs!
The Fatima & Dorian Concept joint is from the Various Assets album and we had to hook ya’ll up with some brand new Zap Mama music with Tony Allen and Meshell Ndegeocello from the new “ReCreation” album.
