Spending all that time in Frisco made me realize that the Bay area has quite some talent. Rojai and E-Live are two guys I met on my trip and when they told me they had just released an album together, Their song “Hardpressed” is on the new “Tempo Dreams” Vol. 2 compilation brought to you by Teeko, B. Bravo and Bastard Jazz. Also look out for The Starship Connection’s “We Can Go All Night” on 7-inch vinyl or just cop the entire 2xLP while you’re at it.
Earlier this month we visited L.A. and had a blast. We arrived, bounced to the hotel and went straight to the KPFK studio to meet up with Santana from TruthSeekers radio. Much love for inviting me and B. Bravo to do a little guest mix on the show. We played some music and had a blast. Thought you might want to hear some of the gems we let loose that night. After having been in Cali for a few weeks it’s time for some new music again. The Robert Glasper Experiment is on the verge of releasing “Black Radio” 2 and we wanted to provide you with something brand new. On my Frisco adventures I’ve been spending a lot of quality time with big homey B. Bravo and got to meet Teeko last night. These Bay Area funksters are also known as Starship Connection and guess what…they have a compilation coming out very soon. With contributions from artists such as Atjazz, Amalia, Tony Ozier, Pomrad, S3, K-Maxx, Blackspade, Bayonics, Rojai and many more. The full compilation will be released worldwide October 15th on double vinyl, CD and digital on Bastard Jazz Recordings and is now available for pre-order. We from Moovmnt have been following German producer IAMNOBODI for quite some time now and have been waiting for his “Elevated” album to release. Well the moment has arrived and we’d like you all to take a listen to the opening song “Do What You Love”, which most likely reflects it’s makers decision to pursue his dream. Even though we hope to hear some more vocal features on the next project…there is nothing wrong with this instrumental album!
Been keeping an ear out for Slakah the Beatchild‘s “Soul Movement” Vol. 2, but it seems that it might be an early 2014 release. No need to be sad, because Slakah was nice enough to put some bonus tracks online to hold us over. In the meanwhile make sure you check out all five and pre-order at will.
Confession. Before the release of The Internet’s “Feel Good” album, I had never heard of Inglewood’s Tay Walker. Tay is one of the band members and recently released a solo project (yay for the free download) called “Tay Walker” EP. As a lover of sexy soulful music, we thought you deserved some of that “Dear Love” music in case you find yourself in one of those sexy moments. Get ya freak on..
Last month volume two of the Yosoy Records Compilation was released. This time containing a First Touch remix of Monophonic’s “There Is Music” featuring Nadine Demetrio. Nice little Modern Funk banger comin’ out of Germany. For more info on the compilation head on over to the Yosoy shop.
After having heard “Dont’cha” we were impressed. So impressed no other music was posted for almost two weeks. Finally we can tell you The Internet‘s “Feel Good” will be out worldwide as of tomorrow on Odd Future Records. We wanted to supply you with some early streams of this project to make sure you pick this one up. If only more music was on this kind of level, but sadly it’s not so I guess we have to savor the flavor.
