Many of you have been waiting for this since Voodoo and some of you might have given up all hope. Judgement day is at hand and D’Angelo‘s “James River” album prelude is a fact. The album contains some alternate tracks recorded during the James River studio sessions as well as the first single picked from James River, “1,000 Deaths”. Real D’Angelo fans…get your own copy of this CD at Rush Hour!
A while ago we met up with Zed “Maddslinky” Bias at the Sound Gallery in Amsterdam. He was so kind to do a one hour mix for our Moovmnt Radio show filled with exclusives and sneak previews. If you like that UK Funky/Broken/Garage/Dubstep/Wonkey sound you’re in for a proper treat! Dave drops some fingerlickin’ tunes and we invite you to take a listen. Oh and for you Dutchies…this Friday Maddslinky will be playing at Rampage in Paradiso (Amsterdam).
All the way from Perth, Australia RBMA 2008 participant Ta-Ku hit us up with a nice new track called “Sylvia”. This is the first release off his upcoming LP “Knots” which is set to come out on Australia’s Paperchain Records in 2011. To check out more of Ta-Ku’s stuff head over to his Soundcloud or Bandcamp pages.
What a coincidence we’re playing tonight at a vinyl only event in Rotterdam called “Analog”. So we can really relate to Vlooper and Modlee‘s latest “AnaloG LovE” album, which came out on Gergaz recently. Nice Vlooper productions with a more soulful twist then usual. His loving wife is doing a pretty nice job on the vocals and I would say, keep this up. Enjoy the free download, sit back and press play. [Perf10]

Young homey Joe Kay from Cali dropped another mix on us and we decided to host it. He named the mix “Telepathy” and it sounds hella refreshing if you ask me. The artwork looks crackin’ and was done by 96 from France. Download this free mix below and check the tracklist after the jump. Enjoy your weekend!
About three weeks ago I emailed Wonderful Noise to see if I could get my hands on a copy of the new Benny Tones album “Chrysalis” which recently released on Evert Waking Hour. For those that never heard of Benny, he’s a Wellington-based producer/DJ/audio engineer and the official sound tech for Electric Wire Hustle. So I decided to hit up RBMA participant Manzana and he patched me through to Benny. Have to say I really love the whole vibe of the album and the Kiwi’s managed to surprise me once more, coming out of nowhere with a stunning release. Can’t go wrong with artists like Mara TK and Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy’s Drop) on your album of course.
Available on iTunes and CD (via Amplifier), but with a hefty price attached to it. Might want to wait a bit for world wide distribution so I can pick it up at Rush Hour. Thanks to Benny for sharing “Nevermind” with us and making it available for FREE download!
A few days back Brainfeeder member Mono/Poly released his debut album “Paramatma“ on Tasteful Licks. Finally, cause we have been waiting for this since Front2Blaq’ “Beatscientist Busy VS Mono/Poly Mix“ . The album is a mix of experimental beats, dub-step, and astral soundscapes. I will probably put this right behind Flying Lotus “Cosmogramma” in my playlist.
The Paramatma USB Card contains the full album as 320kps MP3s, artist interviews, exclusive photos and artwork, unreleased tracks, remixes, and some other neat stuff. Available on iTunes now.
Over a week ago we had the honor of playing with B.Bravo and TOKiMONSTA at the BCKWLD! event in Amsterdam. To give Amsterdam a small taste of what they’ve been missing out on in London, we intvited Red Bull Radio to record both their sets and we’re happy to share them with you. We also shot some nice video footage and asked both Cali residents about their RBMA adventures. Big shout out to Joao Costa for the camera work and editing.
Ya’ll know about TOKiMONSTA already, but in case you haven’t check out her live-set.
Buddy Bravo played a funked up set going from G-Funk to Dubstep. Check it out below..
To celebrate her 25th birthday & to finally give people a taste of what to come in the following years, Rotterdam native Esperanzah has released her free “Birthday” EP. Apart from Sense (with whom she forms Esperanzah & Sense) and Bluntspeakers (with whom she forms AquaNova) production is also done by newcomer extraordinair Danny William of Furlan Williams. You can download the full EP over at Bandcamp.
