Brazilian singer and actor Seu Jorge and his band Almaz have signed to Now-Again Records. Their album – Seu Jorge and Almaz – will be released on 07.27.10 in North America to coincide with a sixteen-city North American tour. The first single from the album – a cover of Roy Ayers’ “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” – is out on 12″ vinyl in mid-June and is available as a digital exclusive at Stones Throw’s webstore now. P.U.D.G.E – Originally from Jamaica, Queens now residing in L.A producer/DJ recently released a 10″ with Dibiase on All City Records. By coincidence I visited P.U.D.G.E’ bandcamp and saw that he released the P-Mixes. It’s a collection of remixes he did over the last few years. Not the best that I heard from him, but postworthy. A few days back Brainfeeder member Mono/Poly released his debut album “Paramatma“ on Tasteful Licks. Finally, cause we have been waiting for this since Front2Blaq’ “Beatscientist Busy VS Mono/Poly Mix“ . The album is a mix of experimental beats, dub-step, and astral soundscapes. I will probably put this right behind Flying Lotus “Cosmogramma” in my playlist.

The Paramatma USB Card contains the full album as 320kps MP3s, artist interviews, exclusive photos and artwork, unreleased tracks, remixes, and some other neat stuff. Available on iTunes now.

I remember that we posted about Chief’ “Collaboration Collection” last year. It was a collection of the beats he made between 2005 and 2009. The album features Moka Only, John Robinson, Kissey Asplund, Dynas, Blu, Co$$, Les Nubians and others. Now he is back with another jazzy/sample based album as an unofficial tribute to jazz pianist and composer Chick Corea. A collection of 10 Chick Corea reworks by Chief. UpMyAlley is dropping the third installment of their producer compilation series “Beatnicks Vol. 3”. The guys over at UpMyAlley hooked us up “Way Back” of Ki En Ra’s “City of Moment” EP available on OneSense Music. The Estonian teams up with SelfSays on this one (who can make something out of nothing).
