Kam Moye A.K.A Supastition is quickly becoming one of the most prolific hip hop artists around, and he’s got the quality control to back it up. Kam Moye, as Supastition, has a discography to be proud of. He has not only experienced success and critical acclaim with his previous two albums and three EPs, but has also been featured on projects with KRS One, Little Brother, Royce the 5’9, Elzhi (Slum Village), Bahamadia, and many others. Up next is his newest project entitled Splitting image, to be released Fall ’09. First listen is this track called “3 ladies”… just a little lesson in love ladies need to sit through.

After the “Coupé Décalé” LP, Débruit finally hits us with a successor – “Cle Le Bras” – full of dope melody chops, accelerator grooves and savage synths. Daedelus delivers an extra remix for “Pouls”, but for us the nicest two joints are “Echtah” and “Look 22”. Also be sure to give “Gros” a listen, but it takes some time to get into that one and while your at it check out “I’m Goin’ Wit’ You” with Om’Mas Keith and Jamie Woon here. Visit our friends at Rushhour to buy the EP or get it at iTunes!

If you are looking for a new sound, a raw, soulful, hip-hop distinct sound, a sound different from the solo beat machine, then you must listen to Ab and Daru’s “A Work in Progress”. This new Midwest sound is a combination of live instrumentation and the refreshingly vibrant, eclectic soulful vocals of AB placed over the music of beat maker/drummer, Daru.
I gave the album a listen and came to the conclusion that “A.W.I.P” is a pretty above average release. You get some very nice, live beats and AB delivers some nice vocals on the tracks. The guest appearances are the icing on the cake and with Elzhi, T3, Black Milk and Rena you got a damn nice package all together. Tracks like “Voicemail” and “On Deck” can be considered as the best tracks, but don’t underestimate tracks like “All Alone” and “Fresh”. All in all a very nice album and if I’d have to rate it, I guess a 7.5 out of 10 would be in order. Help these guys pay their rent and buy their album on iTunes!

Atlanta-based producer Floyd The Locsmif started doing a lot of remixes and you might have heard of his Outkast remix project called “Outskirts”. His newest album “Divine Dezignz #2” has some nice instrumentals on it and features artists like Dave Ghetto and Supastition. Some nice tracks on there, but “Fuzzy Navel” is definately top rank. If you want to hear more, check out his album on iTunes. Thnx to PhunkSession for the heads up..

While we eagerly await material from J*DaVeY’s upcoming full-length album, the Los-Angeles based new wave-electro-sex-punk duo are trying their best to tease us mercilessly. This time around, J*DaVey bring the sultry track “Slooow” from their double EP Beauty in Distortion / Land of the Lost, to life through a video that subtly melts into our speakers and our eardrums. Set behind a quivering red and black backdrop that oozes, bends, and spreads across the screen, the video takes us into an abstract dream-like world that lets us see what J*DaVeY’s understated and suggestive bleeps and coos look like in the visual realm.
The video, directed by up and comer Tomas Whitmore, has already premiered at #8 on BET JAMS and is up for MTVU’s The Freshman Contest. J*DaVeY babies can now vote for “Slooow” as many times as they want. If “Slooow” beats out the competitors, the video will be placed in permanent rotation on MTV. More info on J*DaVeY’s show in Amsterdam (April 9th) after the jump..
