End of the month and we are droppin’ another Moovmnt Guest Mix! This time it’s a Birmingham-based DJ who goes by the name of Jayson Wynters from SOULfisticated. He is most comfortable in Neo Soul and Soulful sounding R&B music with a dash of soulful house. We thought Mr Wynters would be a perfect fit for our Moovmnt Guest Mix 02, but by all means you guys be the judge yourselves. Again we’d like to give thanks to Duktus for hooking us up with some great artwork. Snatch up a free download if you like.
Mnsdgn dropped a new EP on cassette (sold out) and digitally via Bandcamp. Now this release reminded me of the infamous Klipm0de crew which consisted of Suzi Analogue, Devonwho, Knxwledge and Mndsgn. If you’re not familiar with the klipm0de crew, Kenny Fresh’ archives will get you up to date.
Meet Tom Bauwens who also goes by the name of ToolBox. This young producer from Belgium just showed up on my radar and I’m liking what I’m hearing so far. A few days ago the gents over at OohWee dropped a free downloadable joint on Soundcloud. We thought we’d be so kind to add another stream to get you all acquainted. Remember the name and where you heard it first or second.
You might have heard funky flute player Han Litz before on Seravince’s “Hear To See” album. Congratulations are in order for today he released his debut album “Epiphany” digitally. This Jazz Fusion album has all sorts of influences ranging from Funk to Brazil. Make sure you give it a listen and buy on iTunes if you’re into Jazz music!
Hip Hop production duo JR & PH7, hailing from Cologne/Copenhagen, have been bangin’ out fat beats for quite a while. Their latest “The Good Life” album has been out for a few months, but I just discovered their brand new “Goodbye” single featuring Phonte and Median. Big Brenk Sinatra remix on there, so make sure you wear your neckbrace for this one! Available on iTunes so make sure you go check this out. Thanks to Jakarta Records for the free download of the original version.
Time after time The Internet OFWGKTA keeps whispering sweet somethings in our earsholes. Their remix for Mikky Ekko‘s “Pull Me Down” sounds sophisticated yet simply soulful. Syd tha Kyd and Matt Martians manage to surprise me again. Turning into a believer here..
Machinedrum just decided to share a whole bunch of remixes he made between 2005 and 2010 for various artists and bundle them for his “Nice Efforts” compilation. Some were rejected, others unreleased or just straight up unfinished. Available tomorrow via Mixmag for free download. Pretty nice effort right?
